Strains Native to Kenya Africa?????

Hi guys:wave:

Well I posted this in another forum, but getting no response, I didnt know where else to ask, but I figured that someone here might know.

A friend of mine is from Kenya, and she is going back to visit family/tribe in march. "Bukusu" (aka. Babukusu) is her tribe, and they reside in the foothills of "Mt. Elgon" and the Kenya "Rift Valley" province. (I pointed that out for geographical refrence to my question)

she asked me if i wanted her to bring me something back ....Ummmmm yeahhh.....I want some seeds please.

she is gonna send me some beans so that she doesnt have to fly/travel with them. she has told me stories for days about the "crazy weed" there.

I asked her if she knew what strains they had (assuming its all landrace stuff)...she doesnt know, she says it just grows wild, and "beautiful purple flowers"... And she hasnt smoked since she moved here. she doesnt know that I grow, she thinks I'm just gonna toss 'em in my veggie garden for fun.

anyway, does anyone here know the names of any strains that may be native to kenya? (specificly that area??)...I've tried to google some stuff, but there doesnt seem to be much info ...something named "Kisumu Sativa" came up but further research failed due to Kisumu being a town or something w/ all kinds of info on its own.

I just figured someone here may have an idea, and if I mentioned it to her it may ring a bell.

thanks for any help guys

I have been to Kenya years ago. I wasnt into growing that much yet, i didnt know that from all the Schwaggy weed (full of seed) we bought there , it would have been possible to find some nice strains in the seeds. But the quality was real low, was hard to get stoned from that weed. But again, maybe we just did get the tourist shit.....dont know...

ive heard of kenya landraces but never heard of any particular strains. african sativas are pretty magical though, they would definately be worth running. a "bukusu" seedline would be pretty damn cool!

i guess foothills will make it a lowlands strain? do you know anything about the elevation? just asking for an idea on flowering period, if she sent you a fast african sativa, you would have something special indeed.

You should ask her to get some info of the strains she is sending, if it is possible. However, you should receive everything she sends you and check them out even without proper info.

Africa is definitely holding some mad marijuana. They got many razy even paranoid sativas, at least if you smoke them first time & unprepared. I personally like that energetic high what you get from an African herb.

Good luck for the search of the crazy Kenyan!!!

tried the ghana after a years break and it almost broke me in half. Sour diesel couldnt stop that sativa buzz not by a long shot....

I'm def. gonna give 'em a run regardless of what I do ro dont find out.

"Mt. Elgon" is a real big old volcano....w/ 5 peaks around 14'000 ft. and the foothills @ about 7000 ft. I read (wikipedia) that there are a lot of very rare plant species in the area also.

...the score could be quite exciting, and I'll def. keep you guys posted.

anyone else have any ideas????
