strains from cofeeshop Katsu

I'll make a trip to amsterdam soon and would like some advice if anybody has tried some of their stuff (coffeeshop Katsu).

They sell outdoor sativas; Super thai, colombian punto rojo, jamaica and super-jamaica. Which of those did you like/is best?

As far as the indoor sativas are concerned, which do you like; haze-silverpearl, orginal haze, killer green, super silver haze or mexican haze?

I can just go there and buy some, but it's expensive and I want the best, so I hope someone has tried some of it and will report!

Green greetings from holland!

Hi,
I tried the killer green at katsu and thought it should have won the cup that year it was excellent ............Peace

Thanks for the info amoS. I searched icmag for katsu strain experiences and found two more people praising their killer green.

Anyone else been at Katsu?

Katsu is worth the trip, for sure.... Great local flavour to the c'shop, in general. Their Lavender was actually tasty, and cured nicely..... Great hasj...... That was all I tried.
Have fun...!

only tried the hasj...the sulu is real nice and the crystal clear is probably my fave smoke in the 'dam apart from the rifman hashes...well worth the visit. Have a great time.

I went yesterday. First thing; the shop is really small but cozy. I bought a 5 euro bag of "colombian punto roja". It was super dense bricked weed. Very dark. Not much effect, a little worse than I had expected/hoped.
I also bought a 20 euro bag of "s p original haze". Smell and taste: herbal/spicey/little hazey. Effect was quite average, not as good as I had hoped for they're purest and longest flowering sativa.
I guess I should have stayed with my initial plan of buying the killer green.

A guy I met at that shop said he had stopped buying haze there because it made his mouth sore due to what he thought was feeding residues in the weed. I kinda experienced that with my s p original haze also. They have other hazes that might not do this though.

Hi,

I went to Katsu recently, and was hoping for some killer sativas, and some good hash, but was left disappointed.

I asked for the best sativa smoke they had, and was sold a bag of Silverpearl/Haze. I asked about the Super Jamaican, as it seemed really expensive for a Jamaican, and I thought it might have been special, but the black girl serving recommended the Silverpearl/Haze too, as did a customer or two.

The smoke was average to slightly above average, but I also tasted some ferts in there.

The 'crystal clear' isolator was overpriced and very disappointing - barely even bubbled from a flame. I smoked it all in one joint with bud, and it was barely better than a reasonable Moroccan.....not cool. In fact, in contrast with some high grade Moroccan a buddy had that day, the Moroccan fired into violent bubbling with a lighter flame near it, but the Katsu isolator looked to have contamination as hardly any bubbling whatsoever....having made lots of bubblehash and hash in general in the past, and had much better results than this, I can safely say it's not the real macoy of a high grade hashish.

Their King Hassan was also pricey (15 Euro a gram), but it's Amsterdam and silly prices, but that was actually a fairly decent Moroccan. The same grade can be found for 8 or 9 Euro in Eindhoven for example, as in Eindhoven you can get top grade Moroccan for 10 Euro a gram (at The Wall coffeeshop).

Katsu describe the King Hassan as the "champagne of hashish", well that's certainly not true, and an insult really to the Moroccan farmers, but it bubbled, went hard at room temp, softened up in the hand quickly, and had a fairly refined smoke, so fairly decent, but not A+ that's for sure.

All in all, disappointed by the Katsu, but I'm disappointed by coffeeshops in Amsterdam in general anyway - I went to all the best shops at New Year and bought the best buds possible, but they were all subpar.

Peace
