strains for writing

For all of those that enjoy writing: what's your favorite strain to write under the influence of, and what type of writing is it that you do?

I write a lot of songs, so I guess poetry would be the best description.

I like a good couch lock indica, that way I am completely into what I am doin

A strong indica! I used to go to drama class and English stoned as a gourd and I always seemed to do better than I would on the norm. I personally dont know the names of the strains that I was getting so I cant really help out in that way...
I write music... well I try to write music and I found that an indica is good for me in that sense as well. It sedates me, makes my hands kind of numb and just... idk how to describe it..... in place. I seem to focus more than when I get ahold of some Sativa. The way I see it; indi makes me glued to the stage/moment... Sativa makes my head soar above the crowds head (and my own) and therefore my playing goes out the window.
Peace,

Some sativas help my brainstorming, I can jump from one thing to the next.

Does anyone have specific strains that help with creativity more than others?

I don't write per se, but software programming which is a large part of my fulltime job is similar to writing - structured differently but you still need to brainstorm and come up with lines that are logical, work with the others and follow certain flows and constructs.

What I've found helps is a good "Daytime Smoke™", one that will have an uplifting and motivating high and leave me fully functional - as opposed to one that'll bomb me out and have me wishing i was resting in front of the TV.

Smoke68 said "a strong indica! I used to go to drama class and English stoned as a gourd", but that was high school - everybody would go to class stoned on any indica or sativa they could get their hands on :)

These days I prefer to leave the heavy stuff for night and lean towards the more uplifting highs (usually sativa-dominant) during the day - I find it a lot harder to write/program if I'm bombed out.

For me I've found Cinderella 99 fits the bill really well, Grapefruit from FemaleSeeds also but that high was a bit mellower so not quite as uplifting as the C99. Also Sour Diesel IBL but only a light smoke or it starts getting heavy quickly

Also, what (strain) do you like to be under the influence of while reading?
Any that won't help put me to sleep from the eye movements of reading. :)

Ok, you're right... but it was however the smoke I did, and have enjoyed most. I dont really get to have a "name-strains" for the most part... or if it was a named strain, it wasn't what I really wanted in ganja. at least until my grow starts producing...
GREEN MUSHROOM YOU RAT BASTARD DOUBLE POSTING!!! LOL. It's ok, it happens... We'll forgive you this time... but everybody gets one... lol
Peace,

Smoke68, I think another factor is that in high school you don't really care so much about what it is you're working on because lets face it none of us treated school like a job, it was just as much a social thing as it was a learning thing - ie. you have to write that English essay etc, so you don't really care too much how well you do it as long as you get it done by its due date, as you'd rather just bomb yourself out with some good weed and have fun with your friends

But when you really want/need to focus on something then I personally find it's best to stick to the more uplifting & motivating strains rather than the ones that just bomb you out ......... damn I miss high school though

Ok... Pheno, your right... for the most part... I still love my indicas the most, but with love for the plant, I love sativa too.
Ok, different highs for different activities.
Hiking- trippy sativa
Fishing- indica, but with sativa for a little head up
Reading- full on indi for me
Games (board)- Sativa
There is a strain and a time for everything.
Peace,
Smoke...OUT!!!
