i know the old 90s super skunk is lost (some may differ but assuming its true) is there any strains crossed to that version that you can still get today in seed form beside things like Giesel etc.

since giesel and Top Dawg have been brought up they do have giesel x DNL bx, and they have something called basic 5 or something along those lines that is SSSC nl5 skunk that they work into crosses with mass super skunk such as their colorado super skunk

Could take a look at "Nordle" and "Shit" from Mr.Nice (?)

Isn't Nordle the same as Super Skunk anyways? And still from Nevil....

"Names don't mean much to me. Super Skunk, Ultra Skunk, Nordle. It's all AfgT x SK1 to me." -Nevil

AfgT and its sister AfgS both came from the original Maple Leaf from Maple Leaf Wilson. AfgT said to be a potential pre archetype of Skunk #1 as Nevil thought that SK#1 didnt really resemble Afghani#1. AfgS was fruitier.

Giesel doesnt have the old stretchy Super Skunk. You wanna look in the different Sour cuts I'd recommend. I'm doing something similar.

the mass super skunk doesn't have any stretch, JJ has actually hypothesized that there isn't any mass super skunk in sour

yeah JJ is really cool but the real MSS absolutely stretches and thankfully Skunk VA has pictures of the real MSS. JJ breeds with the second MSS that is probably a bagseed from the original. most likely.

Those are old pics taken in the 90's of the real Mass Super Skunk. Which also comes from Virginia. They just called it Super Skunk. Now there is also claims about certain people breeding Diesel 1 and 2. I dont personally believe that as greg never passed cuts of the 91 to anyone on the east coast. Greg was also growing rooms of nothing but Chem 91 x Super Skunk after the Super Skunk expressed intersex traits(as she usually does) and pollinated the 91. Greg was still selling this bud as "Chemdog" so nobody would know that they were actually buying a hybrid of Super Skunk and Chemdog not straight Chemdog. This is right before people started to pop the first "Diesel" seeds. Diesel was slang for dank bud in New York. They called the Chem 91 Diesel.
Its highly likely the first "Diesel" cuts going around in about 94-95 were bag seed from the Chem 91 x Super Skunk. Then the Sour Diesel was bag seed from them. My point though is that if JJ never actually grew the original Super Skunk cut how would dude know? I'm not ragging on him either so dont take it that way. I respect him a ton. I'm currently runing two of his "Mass Super Skunk" hybrids myself to make F2's and sift through a large population. JJ breed with the Analog cut of Mass Super Skunk. It was found by Analog selections and is the short squat Super Skunk. Its likely an S1 of the original but there is also speculation that it is actually a Sour Dubb x Giesel.

If you look at those pictures and you have ever grown a real Sour Diesel cut how can you try to say that is not part of Sour?

I also do not at all believe the "genetic drift" theory. People said this about Sour Diesel for years because nobody really understood just how many cuts were actually out there. Now that there have been more people coming out about it, it makes a lot more sense. There is at least 3 what you would now call "Original Diesel" cuts from the mid 90's and like 7 different "Sour Diesel" cuts.
