What is the best way to cure and store. I have tried glass jars, tupperware, paperbags and it usually ends up tasting and smelling something like hay. What is a sure way of bringing out the taste, as somehow bits I left in a drawer, ended up having an amazing taste incomparrasion to the rest of it. How can I do this everytime?

if it smells like hey, then you jared it to soon, it was still damp, as well with paper bages. you should let it dry in an open vented (dark) area, hang-m with a fan in the room, but not blowing on them, once they're completly dry - jar-m, and burp-m often, like 2 or 3 times the 1st few days, after that, 2 or 3 times a week.
search for a thead the perfect cure he uses a humidy gauge in the jar.

there are already many threads on proper curing,
do a search and all will be revealed.

dry them crispy fast using fan and dehumidifyer on a screen no stems just good size nugs, FREEZE THEM, take out of the freezer as needed... they are goin to have some moisture cuz you dried them so fast. but moisture will be even throughout buds, so leave them out to finish drying to your exact preference... this works great to keep your smoke tasting fresh as you want it for 2-3 years after harvest no loss of potency due to aging I have 2 bowls of Jillybean from a zone i picked up in 2006, ask me and they will prolly be the best of the entire batch 4.5 years old...
btw if anyone could point me in the direction of some jillybean seeds ill give you my right arm

^do not follow his advice AT ALL!!(i never say dont follow someones advice on here but thats just wrong) dry slow as possible, then jar at the correct time and it shouldnt smell like hay after a week or so...best method on paper and that i have seen is the perfect cure by simon....guy says loss of potency due to aging you are wrong sir....cannabis is like a fine wine as it ages(CURES) flavors and tastes and potency increases due to chemical changes quick drying makes potency lower.....any quick dried weed i smoked was harsh, tasted not the greatest, tasted "green"

Thanks I dont have the money to buy one of those meters and I'm not in the USA, has to be a sure way without a meter. Do the buds need to be bone dry before putting into jar? If you put it in a jar and burp it regularly will it def develop this lovey taste I'm looking for, like the bits I left in a drawer?

No it's not genetics as it has happened to several different strains. Had some hanging in cupboard so I've put some in a jar, will burp in in a hour, how long do I leave the lid off and how often should it be burped?

no, not bone dry, or crispy either, but dry enough to snap the stem - not bend it - snap it...

like I said', hang-m in a dark place with a fan to circulate the air, depending on your environment, it may take 3,5, to 7 days, then jar-m, open the jar after 4 or 5 hours and see if they are moist again.

what can happen is, the buds feel dry, maybe even crispy, but moisture is still inside the stem, when you jar it, the moisture comes out into the bud - therefore you need to open the jar and let it breath, if its real damp, then put the buds in a bowel and let them air dry for few hours, then back in the jar - make sure your jar is dry 1st.....

man, if all you do is ask questions and wait for answers
it's gonna take for freeken ever for you to learn how to
do stuff!

you must know that you aren't the first to ask this question,
why not take control and go looking for answers rather
than waiting for others to spoon feed you?

and i'm not trying to insult you man, for real, if you
want to be a successful cultivator you must become
willing to hunt for what you need rather than just
sitting and waiting.

here is a link, if you can't find answers to all your
curing questions here then you need to take up a
different hobby.

Ok, good glad your clam, how long do you burp for? I have hung and dried them in a shed air is mosit here so they can never be bone dry. Hung in wardrobe just to remove some excess mositure, now I have put some into jars and some in paper bags, hoping something works? Last few times I only burped for about an hour, which is where I may have being going wrong, but it seems it's needs 5 or 6 hours burping(with the lid off ) is this correct?

thats why you use a rh meter so you can tell when it needs to be burped the extra cost is worth the security of knowing exactly when to do certain things like open a jar or just leave it alone.....takes alot of guess work with a meter with one its much easier like my bud is ready for the jar sort-of its at 69% rh so that tells me to open lid for about 2 hours then put lid on anc check humidity....(i use a external sensored rh meter so changes can be seen faster yes i have tested this)

Your problem is DRYING!

Dry until the stem snaps cleanly without being rubbery.

Curing isn't 100% needed it brings out the flavor and best of the bud. But if you didn't dry properly you can't cure properly.

You CURE buds that are already DRY.

If you put buds with rubbery stems into glass jars or any other similar method you will end up with gross buds. Because putting them in glass jars cures, it does not dry. If anything it would hold the moisture in the buds which is the opposite of what you need.
