how much, probably too much, and cost of operation, and where do you put something like that without it looking suspect besides a shipyard or connected to a trailer...i give it a

Saw it at the Indoor Gardening Expo yesterday in SF. 40' container is 50k!!! The whole container with 16k draws less then 50 amps.

even at 240V its 4.6A per 1k which is 36.8A for 8k (73.6A for 16Kw). so i'm thinking it must be a flip flop system or they're BS'ing you with the 50A thing.

I wish I had one of those buried underneath my house... actually... I would get a descent trailer out in the stix and bury one underneath it:muahaha:

I would also set it up for a stadium style grow like Northern Farmer:rasta:

burying one of those would be so cool, like the batcave of growing....you could even make a trap door through a closet in the trailer to drop down into it from.

did anybody else notice how there are 16 1k's in the 40 footer with only 5-4x8 tables? Maybe its a new trend, but i thought traditionally 2 lights per table was sufficient. I guess it'll yield more if the plants can even use all that light.

on a positive note. It looks very cleans and professinally put together. I like how there aren't too many bends in the ducting, making a nice straight shot down the line and hopefully making just 1 fan for 16 lights ok

i remember a really good thread over at OG that the guy made a new nick name for secerity reasons just to learn how to burying one ..... some really good tips were brought up....was hopeing someone would start up a similar thread for its something i thought about 20 years ago and keep thinking about it and is really a wast of time if your tracks arnt covered . there is alot of planning involved before hand and ofcourse all the attention drawn to such a project.......i found the OG thread to be a good think tank for comming up with unforseen problems for people thinking of burying and cargo container.such a grow area would be a fantastic asset to any serious grower that could get away with setting it up.HH. =]-~

Cool idea but no insulation? That thing will be an oven... Need some kickass a/c

If they have 8 feet in width, why not use 3' deep tables on either side? That would leave about 18" walkway. Is that not ;enough to get around?

I like whatt rambeau is onto! 3' wide tables/trays on either side, 1 600w on each side every 3 feet going down the line. a panda poly wall on the inside edge of each row of tables.
You would run the two different sides on a flip flop. about 11 600w lights per side, covering 33 feet, leaving room on each end for individual components, mother and clone rooms, etc.

so thats 7200 watts per side. not too bad.

you can get the containers themselves for around 2k, you have to add the rest of the stuff though... I know a lot of people who use them for storage around here....

Of course most of them have a few acres to put it on.... Don't think it would do real well in someones backyard....

Really doesn't seem worth the price unless you're completely useless doing this yourself. $2k for an empty, the rest is not THAT complicated.

But, say you're old or sick or a helpless female. Refinance the mortgage and next thing you know this thing is sittin in your backyard pumping green backs out that 12" vortex.

it's great for any situation i'd say, marijuana included. but i could see something like this definitely being done in an underground bunker, desert area or african villages or just your generally depressed area where growing in the ground isn't feasible. it would be cool if they shipped it with enough water for a grow kinda like a poland spring delivery guy! lol. or maybe just everything u need including seeds and nutes. would there be enough area for solar panels to run along the top to gather enough juice to power that monster?

i like the idea a lot! i hope it gets a lot of recognition, further development, and actual use in the near future.
