Stoner math help

I couldn't think of anywhere else to ask this, but need some help in figuring out some "odd" math.

when producing some concentrated THC product (Known as shatter here, or BHO to some others even though its hard) one can use 170 grams of some not too bad shake, and get 10.2 grams of "Shatter" as the end result.

What I would like to know is if you smoke 0.1g of shatter, what would be the equivalent number of grams of pot would you smoking.

IE (Random numbers that mean nothing here) smoking 0.1g of shatter would be like smoking 10 joints, or grams, or whatever.

I just want to know how to figure out the math in that is all.

I don't there is an equivalent unless there is a value from a property, that both share, that we can compare. I mean basically it sounds as if you are asking for an equation, but you're not providing enough parameters, just knowing the weight of the one sample isn't enough. I think we need, for example, CBD content %.

I'm trying to find a way to explain it to someone.

It sells for about $60/g here which people find incredibly expensive, but when you can tell them shit like "one toke is like smoking x joints" it gives them something simple to visualize so-to-speak

The numbers I mentioned are also for "low quality" product. Still pure as shit, but if it were made from kush and buds you can get as much as about 51g of shatter, from 170g of buds.

170 grams of "not too bad shake" turned into 10.2 g of shatter = .06 or 6% return (10.2/170)

and

170 / 10.2 = 16.6 grams of "not too bad shake" per gram of shatter

Therefore, .1 g of shatter = 1.6 g of "not too bad shake"

Hope that helps.

so if that's the case then when using better starting product, you get 34g of shatter from 170g of good buds.

Using that math then would be 170/34=5 grams of good bud per gram of shatter.

.1g shatter = .5g of good bud.

Better return by far, by not as much of a selling point lol.

zeke is definitely right, there isn't really a way to break it down like I'm trying to.

the problem is living in a city where almost half of the population is unemployed and on social assistance or disability or some other limited income.

The biggest selling point, which is still a hard sell is that spending $50 on this, compared to straight weed is that this will last longer than $50 of weed.

And I'm not selling anything, this is all just a hypothetical discussion from the mind of a stoner who thinks of shit like this out of boredom and the deep need for human contact of any form.

oh, and that a .1 is god damn mind blowing. It really is like smoking a whole a gram. It's been a long time since I've had a buzz like I used to get in high school, but this stuff will do it with one or two hoots.

In my experience, top quality bud can give you a 20% yield with shatter. 0.1 g of shatter can be roughly equivalent to 0.5 g of good bud. Some people have gotten yields a little higher.

It feels stronger when it hits you all at once. I haven't wanted to smoke much bud since I got my little vape pen last year. Shatter (or wax) is just better.

Ya, I was really baked when I tried to do the math (from shatter no doubt) so it wasn't making sense that a 6% return would be like smoking 16g of shake from .1g but a 20% return would be equal to smoking only .5g of kush.

Then I realized that yeah, I'd probably have to smoke 16 grams of shake to get the same buzz as .5g of good kush, and that better buds mean better ratios.

It would only take .5g of kush to get .1g of shatter, but would take 16g of shake to get the same .1g

like I said, I was really stoned though.

Whoever left the comment with the positive rep about 1.66g = .1g of shatter, thanks, thats a really accurate and simple description.

Well a different way to explain it might be to say it's like comparing a pint of beer to a pint of grain alcohol. Both are a pint and both contain a certain percentage of alcohol but one will require you to drink about a case of it to get as drunk as a cup or less of the other.
