Thanks Johnny for posting. Your link provides a easy way to contact your representatives via email or by phone which is IMO one of the only way Med patients, caregivers, and collecives in Cali will get the protection they need to obtain and grow thier meds. I hope more Peeps will take the time to call and email as I did through this link. You don't have to support or believe in ASA to help patients like me, DD

California Assemblymember Tom Ammiano’s (D-SF) AB 2312 will establish a regulatory body to develop and implement statewide standards for medical cannabis (marijuana) cultivation and provision, limit local taxation of medicine, and make banning legal patients’ associations harder. Many local governments are uncertain about the scope of state law and reluctant to move forward with sensible regulations. A statewide standard will help address this ambivalence.

The California Senate will vote soon on SB 1182 (Leno), a bill that will add medical cannabis cooperatives, collectives, and other associations to the list of those exempt from penalties under the Medical Marijuana Program Act (SB 420).

You do realize they pulled AB2312 before it passed both house and senate votes. So it is out of the 2012 legislation season.
Hopefully they get it fixed in time to get into running for 2013.

Thank God AB2312 got pulled, though. It was changed to suit the prohibitionists. I don't recall the exact language changes, but they caused it to morph into something we DON'T want.
SeaMaiden/nitelite thanks for the updates. Many times we support something to find later it gets revisions and is added to before passing. Funny how they accomplish this? Cheers..DD
