NASA has announced that they have developed a new metallic alloy. "so what?" one might say. but, in their desire to create better materials for space-related uses, sometimes they find stuff useful in many ways. their new alloy, called GRX-810, is twice as strong as metals they have been using, 3.5 times more flexible, and over 1000 times more durable in high temp/high stress applications, such as rocketry & missile internals, than their current state of the art materials. . plus, it lends itself to 3D printing very well. from 3D Printing Industry, The Independent, and zmescience.com. this stuff is going to end up in LOTS of applications...maybe bicycle frames? where's Unc at?
