starting indoor finishing outdoor

hi guys ,

i live in a semi tropical area around 30c in summer to around 20c in winter.
I started a small veg room inside , grow to around 2ft{ 4/5 weeks] at 20/4 and then stick them in a plot outside and they flower immediately.
Using this method i have been able to run multiple crops for most of the year. I had issues last september when the days started getting longer they went back to veg. I think this year when sept rolls around i will probaly have my light cycle at around 14/10 that way im assuming they should veg outside until the natural light cycle begins to shorten {late dec }
I have only been doing this for around 9 months or so and it seems to be working ok , i am just wondering if anyone else uses this method and has any tips or suggestions.

Also i have gone from plastic starter pots to smart pots and will be getting air pots soon ,as they seem they will be the best pot for this application.

anywhoo thats about it , i hope this generates some discussion

peace

here is information i recently posted here: https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=258575&page=2

i have been vegging indoors and flowering out for years now here are some tips i use:

plants will often go straight into flower so i grow them BIG in veg
i spray a mix of seaweed concentrate, fish emulsion, silica and potash (medium strength) a day or two BEFORE moving out...i rarely get wilting for more than a few hours before plants bounce back
treat the plants gently during transplant and ensure that root balls are not completely dry or too wet, nice firm root ball is preferred
plant into a wet medium not dry
use same foliar mix as above to water into the plant once transplanted
within a few days i reapply the foliar spray and i am good to go...

i use a heap of silica and go out of my way to grow big strong plants that are able to quickly (within a day or so) resume growing. all strains i have used have gone into flower when using 18/6 indoor lighting schedule...except one long flowering, big arse sativa that got smashed by storms and mould...

pot size counts for planting outdoors...use pots that the plants can fill with roots...loose rootballs tend to fall apart during transplant causing damage

goodluck

hey ozzie !
what form of silica do u give them once outside? i had some bud rot issue last time and figure silica should help fix that.
also i notice that some of my older plants developed some root binding{not sure if that the correct term} where the roots spiral around the pot , so i got some smart pots which encourage the roots to grow outwards but havent yet transplanted them , i can forsee some dramas there , i think ill end up cutting the pots away with scissors.

i will let u know if there is any marked diff by yield time

i use liquid silica with potash for foliar, straight silica for watering into the soil and my soil amendment also has silica in it...your pots are root bound and would suggest lightly roughing up the root ball on transplant to get the roots to shoot outwards..
