ive switched to 12/12 when in veg i was feeding terracycle liquid womrcastings. My plants have been on this cycle for a week and i went to the hydro store cause i know ill be needing food for them. The guy sold me flornova bloom because im in bloom now. Will there be any problems with that or do i need a nitrogen supplement for bit to make up for the lack of? Will this work/can i get away with this and still have a healthy plant/plants.

i was curious being the fact that they are so young that they may miss out or require some extra N. Its 4-8-7 but beats me.

4-8-7 is a great npk ratio for flowering. id use it. plants still need some nitrogen in flowering. try and look for something like pk 13-14 to use as an addative to increase your P and K levels towards the middle/ end of flowering.

I think you guys are totally missing his question... I am interested myself...

A plant takes in, as well as stores a lot of nitrogen throughout the veg cycle. This nitrogen has a big factor on a lot of things health, vigor and most of all quality (heathiness) and perhaps quantity of bud. A plant should normally get 3-5 weeks veg to build these levels.

He is asking, because he is flowering so early at only two weeks, which does not allow a lot of time to get an generously adequete amount of nitrogen to get sucked up by the the plants, not to mention he probably hasn't hardly fed them, being so young. So... will he possibly have nitrogen problems later on in flowering because of this? Should he suppliment?

My answer:

Yes, it will effect your buds yield wise, I mean the older the plants are from veg means more of the bud for sure, for all kinds of reasons, this probably being one of them. Your are probably more prone to a N defincianty late in flower...

Do you need to suppliment? If I were you I would switch at 3 weeks or as long as you can go, so you can at least feed them for 2 weeks in veg. If you must take it 2 weeks, the plants will still grow until they become mature which is another 1-2 weeks plus a 2 week stretch which gives you about 3-4 more weeks I would feed it the veg formula.

Also, during the weeks or last week of stretching start mixing the veg ferts and the bloom in incriments until you get to full on bloom ferts within a week or so. This has always helped me prevent those ugly yellow leaves during the flower period.

I am sure there are other methods that work as well. But I often flower at 2-3 weeks so I know what you mean... I think....or I am just really high..

I would agree and add that whether you flower at 2 weeks or 6 weeks, the first 2-3 weeks of 12/12 is when vegetative growth is intensified and ample nitrogen should be given during the stretch.Since he vegged such a short time, the lack of N "problem"in later flowering could be magnified,so I'd definately use a nitrogen supplement for the first 3 weeks of 12/12.What I do is use a large dose of flowering fert the day of or night before I take cuttings and go 12/12,then for the next 2-3 weeks depending on strain its pure FF grow big, then I'll switch to tiger bloom when they start to show flowers.I've found PBP grow to be better than grow big for the veg stage of growth, but the FF grow big is preferable to me after 12/12 has commenced for 2-3 weeks.

At 2 weeks old, I wouldnt even switch to the flowering ferts until the plants show their sex. And I would continue with vegging ferts the first two weeks of flowering also. They have a lot of growing left to do and if you cut the nitrogen I think you will have problems. They havent had time to store any at this age.

There are all kinds of vegging ferts on the market. Fox Farm and Pure Blend Pro are a couple...

would you suggest completely switching over or are there any strictly N?

no..if switching over completely will tell the plants to do what you tell it..its too early to stop N after 2 weeks.... its the plants response to the enviroment in this case 12/12 that forces the plant to flower..it's not the Ferts that make the plant to flower..so keep feeding it N and then after 2 weeks..then im sure you will have sex then... Females LOVE the N so load up and hope for a female... I usually add 7-6-5 liquid only one time cuz the new soil already has plenty of N anyways
