Started from clones, but they are dying...

Hey guys, this is my first post so hope you guys can help.

I am a MMJ user and this is my first grow. I need help. Here is the deal. I got three clones and put them into my pots with Happy Frog soil. I gave them just water when I planted them. probably about 1/4 gallon or less for all three of them, the soil was already moist so I didn't give them that much. This was right as the light cycle began. I already had two clones that I planted a few days ago going under a 400w MH on 18/6. I thought that the new ones would be ok under the light but when i check on them this morning, one plant had completely drooped over (the leaves were touching the dir). One plant looked like it had taken most of the water and was looking good. The last one looked O.K.

I took the one that was drooping over and put it under a 27watt cfl and i had to go to class. When I checked on it around noon, about four hours later, the plant had erected itself almost completely so I left for class again with it still under the light. The dark cycle started at about 4, and I didn't to mess up the cycle of the plant so I put it under dark.

That's where I am now, I got the plants out of dark and the same one drooped over again the other ones looked O.K. So, I took all three and they are under 2x 27watt cfl's. here are some pictures...please help, this is my first grow I know I am a newbie.

i will try to answer as many of the questions as i can

-problem first noticed this morning, clones potted last night.
-Afghan Kush
-clone
-age?? the look pretty young, ive only had them for a day and I was not able to talk to the person who actually was taking care of them..friend of a friend
-they've been in that soil mixture for about 24 hours
-aproxx 1.5"-2"
-veg stage
-5 gallon pots...im thinking i should have started them out in smaller ones
-Happy Frog soil with perlite in it...unsure of percentage
-Cutting Edge Solutions Micro 6-0-0, Grow 2-1-6, Bloom 0-6-5
- I am following the cutting edge solutions suggestion sheet for the different amounts. 5ml/gallon micro, 5ml/gallon bloom, 10ml/gallon.
-they havent been fed. just water last night when potted.
-mixed in order written above, each solution mixed in seperately
-
-
-400watt bulb mh
-was about 30" from light
-temps range from 73-76 with light on and 68-72 light off.
-6" vortex style fan sucking out ~400cfm, always running
- fan that used to oscillate but it broke, so now just constant, straight flow
-using tap water ph was about 7.5 when tested....i know I need to get that down to around 5.5.

hope that helps

mmmh i see you don't use a dome....this could be it....also the soil should be a be a bit lighter....like light warrior ...that is the easyest soil to start seedlings clones in....

and if you cut clones...cut the stem above a node at a minimum of 45°-65° angle.....
dip it in clonegel/powder and stick it in your medium....before you plant water the medium at desired ph lvl ....or water carefully with 'plain water!' and hygrozyme after potting
put a dome over them ...RH must be atleast 60-90 %....also for a few days....after a week start shuving the lid a bit till you get more air and the RH drops...

poor some ph'd water tru....to leach the soil a bit....but start with small cups and transplant when they have roots....less work for ya....and easyer to work with dome's and such

yea more acidic...but not as low as 4...you should aim for around 6.5 pH in dirt. Test your runoff to get an idea of what the soil is before you start amending it blind.

I'm with core...They just need a dome over them to keep the humidity up.

trim some of the leaf tips of bro (just the tips). this will help them stand up aswell the big leafs will be making them top heavy....then like what Core says stick a dome on top of them, and air them a few time aday ( just use a 2ltr juice bottle/ cut it in half.) ... you will se a improvment in a few hours with the dome on...

hope thay come good for ya bro

so it sounds like i need to trim, put them under a dome and air them...

one question, what is the 2ltr juice bottle cut in half...by airing them you mean just opening up the dome and letting them breathe?

Sorry bro, two words....

Happy Frog. You are frying those little plants.

Transplant them asap to fert free soil. that first one is toast, you may be able to save the rest. When you water, water deep and thorough, let it sit in some water for 30 min to make sure all that peat fully absorbs the water, then let them drain naturally and do not water again until that pot is light in weight when you pick them up.

Yes 400 mh is too much light for those little ones, unless it is backed way off.

This is what FF says about HF

That’s why Happy Frog® Potting Soil is alive with beneficial microbes and fungi that help break down organic matter and feed the plant roots. Between the earthworm castings, the bat guano, and the composted forest humus, your container plants have never felt so good.
