Start seed in coco? How

Hi, Im new to this forum. I have just bought Canna coco + canna coco specific nutrition+ Ph up/down + 600w hps and got a proper grow room .
I have found alot of information and learned alot from this forum.

I got a few questions, Ive searched through the forum but didnt find much about it :

How do I start seeds in coco ?

1.Should I sprout them in moist/wet cotton and then place them
directly in the coco medium, 6mm into the medium approx, like with regular soil?

2. Should I just keep the coco moist around the area I put the sprouted seed ( Like with regular soil ) . Or I need to add more water/moisture than with soil?

3.How long should they grow before I can water with at least 10% run off
without beeing afraid of drowning the seeds/young plant ?

4. Will 12/12 from seed with Nirvanas Jock Horror and Snow white work well?
I only got 600w hps and no proper veg light...

I always start mt seeds in straight coco and it works fine. First I place them in a cup of water for about 24 hrs or until the shell cracks and the tap root starts to show. Then I place them in the coco and make sure it stays moist. Once they pop through I start watering until there is just a little runoff. After a couple weeks and they have established a good root ball in the coco I then look for about 10% runoff. Just make sure the coco does not dry out. You will not drown them in coco.

A hps light is fine for veg. I have used mine many times although I only veg for about two weeks max in coco because they stretch a lot.

I have not grown either of those strains so I am not sure how they will perform going straight 12/12 but you can start any seed on a 12/12 schedule. With coco you are going to get a lot more stretch so you will still end up with a good size plant.

What distance should I have my 600w hps if I choose to veg them with 20/4 cycle?
