I would hazard a guess that bipedal gait preceeded large brains. Once man stood upright and freed his hands for foodgathering and defense, his diet improved and his brain got bigger. The plains of Africa were changing at that time to a grassy savannah and some forms of hominids changed with it.

Actually I just read in Scientific American... how they have discovered sumerican monkeys walking bipedally in the trees.. using hands to balance.

So now they think bipedalism developed before humans ever did...

Pops, check your glasses. That's me on the left. As a highly superior being, we are far more in touch with our female side.
