The 2 outdoor cats I had onetime grew thick heavy coats of hair in winter, their winter coats of hair were adorable. My white cat Duke(he had swagger) never seen him looking so good as in winter. No dirt to roll in, he had two different colored eyes. He was the only kitty of a feral litter that survived the ranch dogs. When we bought our own property we brought Duke with us as he lived in my woodshed or our chicken coop.My feral cat came out of her box long enough to go to the bathroom this morning. I have a large tote with a smaller tote inside stuffed with straw between them for insulation. She has a heat mat plugged in for heat and I threw a bale of straw up next to it for wind protection and I set a piece of board on top to keep more wind out. She does alright, it's the way she wants to live so.....

Funny you said that. I figure Buffy is about six to eight years old so she could be around for years to come. She has been with me for about five years now and obviously she has no desire to leave, but also has no interest in being domesticated. I think in a few more years I'm going to call it quits for Michigan, and I have been thinking about how the hell am I going to take this cat with me. I wondered if I went to the veterinarian and explained the situation if they would prescribe some kind of medication to put in her food to knock her out so I could cage her and transport her....I can only imagine how that would go...The 2 outdoor cats I had onetime grew thick heavy coats of hair in winter, their winter coats of hair were adorable. $1360.00 you didn't have yesterday. Did you ever hear the story about the guy who started trading with a red paperclip and ended up with a house after 14 trades over a year.Chump change
When I moved(flew) from Ontario to BC I had to tranquilize my 2 cats. You really had to keep an eye on them so they didn't fall down or they could be hurt. But drugged they were. They survived the plane ride ok.Funny you said that. I figure Buffy is about six to eight years old so she could be around for years to come. It's always less stressful when your cat doesn't lose their minds at a vet visit. My last cat started crapping himself in his carrier on the car ride to the vets. He was so stressed out. When we took Charlie in for his first vet visit I thought it would be a very loud and uncomfortable ordeal.
He didn’t make a peep, not one noise as he sat in our cat carrier and then as the vets poked and prodded.
Only cat I’ve had in recent memory that didn’t start pleading for his/her life the minute the door on the carrier closed.
Sammie was a holy terror his first visit like he was the feral one or something.
That’s very true I need to keep that into a cool clear perspective … every day is actually a gift for me as a grower there’s nothing as satisfying as turning your flower into currency…. After my meeting with the doctor today, I realize I have another season left in me. There’s nothing else to do but to growyou didn't have yesterday.
That dog has a smile on his face. He loves it !View attachment 19114125 View attachment 19114126
