Stanley blower carbon scrubber?

I've seen a thread of someone doing this before, Was wondering if anyone else has tried this. How effective is it? I dont have any squirrel cage fan or anything else to use atm, just a stanley blower. I was wondering if anyone had the thread linking to the dude who posted a guide on DIY.

hmm yeah, thanks. I just tried to attach the stanley blower to one of the carbon scrubber tubes i bought off ebay that came with a fan(fan was way too small to do anything). Im guessing its too tightly packed with activated charcoal, or is that even possible? because even on the highest setting, i can barely feel any air coming out. Some of the air is comiing out of the intake of the stanley blower, which i dont think is good for the fan.

Since I cant seem to get the stuff out of it, Ide say theres about 7-8lb of it in there, Ill probably just make a new filter and attach that to my blower. Can activated charcoal be bought anywhere but online? pet store maybe?

I built my own carbon scrubbers. Both systems use Stanley blowers. You can hook up 5" ducting to the round intakes on the sides if you want to run the Stanley in-line. I use 7" ducting molded to fit the rectangular output to feed to the exhaust (the 5" and 7" ducting are available through heating/AC suppliers, not usually at local hardware stores).

The blowers are quite powerful; they run on low and keep the gardens cool. The big garden occasionally needs the fan turned to medium in the hottest weather.
