stankin like Hell

I have a problem. My tent never causes any stank because of my carbon filter but when I chop my house REAKS like chrondo. I have to chop in a few days and I'm worried about smell. I don't want to spend $800 or so on a carbon filtration system for my entire garage unless I absolutely have to so I'm looking for other suggestions. My garage, which is where my operation is located, is approximately 2800 CF.

I have thought about incense but I hate the smell, burning a charcoal grill, maybe making a pot roast and so on. Any other good tips to cover smell for a short period of time?

^ lol. I'd like to know too I'm going to look around as I'll be in the same situation soon.

My plan is to trim where my fan/filter are and have a bunch of candles while cooking bacon/roast.

turn your inlet off and your out let on high will make more neg pressure , then i have an ozone gen whilst trimming and trim near your out let or as close as poss . if you have more air entering your garage the smell will not leak out unless its a windy day may be

very poor choice of thread title... offensive.

anyhow

i trim in an upstairs room with all the windows open and the door shut, and i light incense or do cooking or something downstairs to create other smells

Maybe we should give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he is talking about Jamaican Haze?

I seriously didn't mean any offense to anyone. I didn't think anyone would take offense to that but apparently some members here have. I apologize for using that choice of vernacular. It's a phrase, albeit dated, that I have used for years without malice.

Gotta keep the air flow up (exhaust)...trying to lock in the smell 24/7 will just make it 10x stronger. I'd def recomend using a carbon filter of some sort. Ozone is sometimes used but hear it can strip the smell right off the buds if used in the same room rather than inline with the exhaust. Better than nothing though. If you can't afford another filter then pull air into your grow from your drying room rather than outside so it all hits the same filter...hope that helps

I have a carbon scrubber and fan that is inside my tent. I was merely looking for a method to mask smell during the chop that doesn't include an ADDITIONAL scrubber. Thanks for the constructive posts people.

The smell will folow the plants where ever you go. You can get a few ONA blocks tim near them that should take care of it..

your threads name was changed as it caused offense to Jamaicans according to some people.

for the smell problem you could open your tent and do the trimming in the doorway of the tent so the carbon scrubber in the tent will clean the stank for you. you can also get an ozone generator, or some of those bathroom air fresheners. ideally you just turn up your ventilation system for the trimming and it takes care of it. it's why i always run way under capacity ventilators, so i can power them up to do the trimming or in the summer.

edited to add correction: i run over capacity ventilation and scrubber, the ventilation is then controlled according to temp. it will go faster till its running at 80% and it will slow down all the way down to 20% when the lights are off. can only recommend people to set the ventilation up this way, alway make sure the air blowing in to the grow space is less then the air thats being blown out of the grow space. the under pressure contains the smell to the grow area, even when you open it up the air should be getting sucked inside the grow through the open door, so setting up your trimming station right there should be ok, as long as your ventilation and scrubber is set up right. if you have too much air blowing in then just unplug the input fan and do as explained, trimming right in the doorway.

I would be pretty cheap and easy to make a plastic tent with a zipper door to put a trim station and the other tent in. Your existing fan and filter will pull air through the cracks in the bottom of the tent so the stench will get filtered without escaping too much.

thanks for all the replies. I'm going to try everything everyone suggested. I will post results when I trim.

my apologies to the Jamaicans.

do you have one of those little water fountains?? if so pour Lysol in it and put it in garage. If not like someone said bathroom fresheners or a bucket with water/lysol and a fan blowing in it..

edit..the waterfountain i mean the little ones u plug in and put on a table, with rocks and stuff. to get a zen moment when you see it..:)
