standard inline or vortex s type

got my 400 watt 6 in hood and a couple 150 for supplemetal I have a 5x5 tent. just wondering how many cfm's I should go for im trying to go for something real quiet I don't want noise what so ever a little is fine but realy trying to keep this thing silent so Im planning on buying insulated ducting and some clamps that have nylon film under to reduce vibrations/noise .so peeps help a stoner out never had to run any air equipment in my grows before but now im in an area that its needed. Thanks :smoke out:

Never used the S line but it looks interesting. I can vouch for the old school vortex, they last long and run quieter than any of the other off brand fans I have. For a 400 watt light your definitely going to want to put it on a speed controller and turn it down, so that will make it quieter also. Not positive about silent in tent, but you will probably be pretty damn quiet.

Make sure the motor is designed for a speed controller. Most aftermarket controllers just reduce voltage. This causes most motors to heat up and can start a fire.

When buying a blower think about the back pressure and make sure you are getting something that can still move enough air at pressure. A 5x5 tent would work with most blowers.

I have the 8" S-Lines and love them. They are quiet for the amount of air they move and since they are a true digital motor, you can use a fan speed controller to the fullest extent. What sold me was when I tried using a fan speed controller on my Hydrofarm Active Air fans was that if you took the speed down too low, the motor would start humming and then not work like GratefulOne just stated. Not the case with the S-Line. Plus the mounting brackets that it comes with are very good at isolating vibration and have a quick release so you can remove it for maintenance. Good fans.

SWEET!! thanks for the advice bruthas fuck if you guys lived close blaze out all fat lol...Stoner talk haha. but yeah I forgot "Gratefulone" I was already looking at speed controller shits legit I like the ranges you can go to I saw a little demo just now those vortex fans look like some alien advance shit compared to standard lol. thanks again guys now I can go in hydro store with a little knowledge to help me. I was just gunna do tge whole "PHRESH filter" package but there are perks that I need . 1.Silent 2.Efficient.

S-Line looks really good, but be aware of the CFM difference. I seem to recall that the S-line has built in speed control. Maybe not. Compare specs on them and the std. Vortex. Regular Vortex has a 10 year warrenty. Tells you something compared to other brands.

Use passive intake. Twice the square inches as exhaust. Good luck. -granger

passive= blowing air right VS aggressive "sucking"

In this case, "passive" refers to having intake openings that are not "actively" pulling or pushing in air using a fan. A passive intake and active exhaust means that the exhaust is pulling air which originally came in through the intake holes in the tent without any additional fans pushing or pulling at intake level. It's the standard way to set up a grow tent or room to allow for the negative pressure that keeps the smell contained in the tent where it is then pulled through the carbon scrubber into the fan and exhausted out of the tent or room from there.

For fans, you can always get one rated at a higher CFM than you actually need and dial it down with a fan speed controller. Better to have overkill than not enough in general. I do find that some fans do not dial down very well beyond about 50-60% speed with a FSC but I usually go with 70% or 100% if I do adjust it so that doesn't bother me.

No they do not have a built in speed controller. What they do have is a true digital motor that can be controlled down to the cfm where others stall out and burn up. The warranty is top notch. But one of the best features besides making my spot look like the set of the next Star Wars movie is that they have built in rubber seals and backdraft dampers. The fan is tits.

phresh hyper fan, good gear. can turn down to very quite operation, powerful, on u-tube test's.

Doktor do have an s line ?

As stated in my earlier posts, I have multiple 8" S-Lines. I never speak of a product that I have not had my hands on and use. I also have seen the YouTube videos and could care less about the tests they conduct as I like to do my own for my spot. YMMV. I grow in multiple Gorilla tents and like to have my spot ready to take down within an hours notice to move. Not being in a kind state makes that a necessity. Fucking old people and republicans shit on my parade this election cycle to allow me to make things a bit more permanent. But true stealth is what I covet for now no matter the cost. And as an industrial engineer, these fans fit my requirements perfectly. Add the duct silencer and you cannot heat them outside the tent at full blast. I can hear the leaves rustling inside the tent from the Air Kings blowing inside over the S-Line.

They seem rather on the large size. Any idea what the weight is on the =250=M173W 1600M3/H60? Also I am not seeing any specs on them anywhere. Have any links?
