My dad and his best friend since kindergarten are going to Ireland for their birthdays, they just had a milestone. Their birthdays are split, my dad's a few weeks before St. Patties day and his friends a few weeks after. They're going to Ireland and drinking 50 pints of Guinness each in 5 days, one of which will be St. Patrick's day.
shore and begorrah...lol...i'm not usually a big guinness drinker but i think i will go that way next week...i may have a smithwick's as well, big fan of that...it is sweet being irish, i remember when i was growing up my mom used to tell me that the whole world wished it was irish lol...i will be making some bho for sure and taking the day afterwards off from work, ha...
Long ago, I used to work in a bar.....St. Patty's day was OFF THE HOOK. One of the biggest party days of the year. I aint quite as into the bar scene as I used to be, and though I'd drink a green beer, there's somethin else green I much prefer to celebrate with
So for me, my St. Patrick's day celebration is known as (in cook's best Irish voice):
The Annual Smokin O' The GREEN!
This little fella is hangin out gaurding a pot o gold. It's Acapulco Gold to be specific. Good pot
So remember yer 5 leaf clover, and keep em green, yall. Have a good St Patty's day with a smokin o the green. Why do you think leprechauns have those lil pipes anyway?
on the southside of chicago to all irish, meself included, st patty's day is right up there with x-mas and the superbowl. it will be a night of guinness harp, murphy's, bushmills, tullamore, and jameson as well as the smoking of the green. as far as the green beer goes, no self respecting irishman would drink such swill (thats for the wannabe irish that night), the irish drink black beers, red beers, brown beers, and yellow beers. green is for smoking not for drinking! plus we on the southside get a early st patty's party with the southside irish parade the sunday before st patty's day, tis a different kind of sea o green on western avenue, and one of chicago's biggest street parties. aaaah cant wait! erin go braless!
Hmmm....
I'll be making my yearly corned-beef and cabbage. I always make too much just in case the drunkeness wanders to my abode. I'll also be smoking some of the pog.....Pot of Gold.
This is the only Caucasian holiday we get folks...lets make the best of it.
hey guys, good to see you will all be celebrating paddys day, what date is it again? (th march??? thought it was more than a week away, anways its better to call it paddys day, not patties day. patties day makes no sense. sorry i am stoned but trust me.
I work in a irish pub/restaurant so either ill be on one side of the drunk and cheering or on the other side of the bar sober and glaring at all the drunks having fun.......
