Spydr X Plus (~660 watts) or D.I.Y Cree CXB3950 ~660 watts

Hey there I was planing to get some Spydr 1200 but BML changed to Fluence with their new Spydr x plus for $1,500.

I saw some diy Cree crob builds cxb3950 which on paper can be built to 50-60% efficiency.

My question is if the new Spydr x plus is about 660-685watts and have a DIY Cree cob build cxb3950 around 660-685watts, put them against side by side which one will have a better efficiency with yield and quality, Spydr x plus or Cree cxb3950?

Would it be more expensive + problems to go with DIY Cree cob or logical to go with Spydr x plus?

Any info would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

If I understand right, you alreay have some cxb3950´s at home? If yes, why dont u get long aluminum coolers and connect them to see if u like the results?
A few years ago I wanted to trw out LED´s and was comparing a 600$ 200Watts system(3w), and a chinese 185actual Watts system 3wLED´s and guess what?
The chinese system wasn´t far behind! I changed the two loud fans with arctic-silent-fans and it was totaly ok to be run in a tent in the bedroom!
Now I am not growing any more but the Led time was a lot of fun on a 2x2 scrog in winter! Daytime temps of 25°C and night of 17-18°C, lights max 3" above canopy gave me the hardest buds I have seen in my entire life!
anyway good luck!
Led diy is cheaper and easier, if you know bout electricity u cant do much wrong with it.

There are much better choices than SPYDR. I have a 2 yo 600, and while I had a couple nice grows I was very unhappy with the construction. Also, I selected the diode kelvins, but since they are designed in one foot sections the light winds up with bands of blue or reds, instead of being dispersed throughout the bars

Maybe they are using newer monos, which would help, BUT, they seem intent on the R/B configuration. Here's why that's not a good choice for cannabis

CoBs contain all the PAR spectrums and heat uniformly. However, they can be enhance in the critical areas with supplemental r/b monos

Cutter carries a fine kit designed bu Growmau, with the help of a few other DIYers, or, I use Amare Technologies which is a much better choice v Fluence is priced at < $3/w with great customer service and warranty
