Sprouting Problem? Help Please!

I just sprouted my first marijuana plant ever from bagseed. No leaves yet or green thingies, but it is coming up, still a helmet head.

I just sprinkled some more water on it, it looks like its about to die, its EXTREMELY small and the stem looks WHITE in color. The helmet on the top of the seed is shaped like a hook. Sorry I couldnt post pictures but I dont have a camera here at the moment.

Thanks for all who help me out. Is this normal and is my plant alright?

wth, dude it's completely normal, the helmet thing is the seed shell it popped out of, the white thing you see is the tap root, that white tap root should be in the soil not popping upwards, if it's popping upwards like the tap root is growing in the air rather than growing in the soil, take a pair of sanitized tweezers very gentle make a hole with a clean finger . Don't make it to deep just a little bit to cover the tap root and put the white part with the seed helmet upwards and the root will grow downinto the soil.

You want to keep the tap root moist but not saturated, dixie cups are good for seedlings starting out, but after a week they need to be put into pots

making sure those cups have good drainage holes in the bottom is important, after that plant has it's first set of leaves do not water heavy, overwatering of seedlings is very very easy.

Congrats on growing man, have you read up on anything about growing by any chance?
I TOTALY recommend doing so if you have not, trust me it will help you prevent a lot of mistakes new growers tend to make.

I've read for 6 months on growing. I started growing in jiffy pots. The tap root IS growing down into the soil, what I am talking about is it looks like the stem is the same color as the tap root (white) and at the top is the helmet head thing and around the top of it the stem is a brownish color. The tap root grew into the soil but isnt the stem suppose to look more greenish than white?

yea ...you have had some good info from Mynamestitch...put it in with the root facing down ...and after a few days ....if it has come up like i think thats your case....just remove the shell carefully if thats possible ....but normally if will fall off from itself.....then you'l see 2 cotylons open up after a day or so...(2 small leaves)

I would not grow in jiffy pots, I Have seen a lot of people have issues with them

When the seed husk comes off you will start to see the green stem, even a bit before the husk comes off, like core said you will then see 2 cotyldons and such.

Great news, turned out everything was absolutely normal, that was only the stem and it wasnt a brownish color, outside you could see it was a reddish purple color and now the cotyldons are showing and turning green. I only see one, I guess the other is still developing from reddish purple to green? lol. Seed shell still hasnt fell off but just a matter of time, it'll be in the sun by tommorow .
