sprouting in rockwool..how long till i see my babies?

G'day dudes..I have 14 seeds planted in rockwool cubes in a propogation box with a warming tray underneath..I cracked em in some sensai femaniser and waited untill there was a little tail(not much)..can anyone who has sprouted in rockwool give me a rough idea on how ling till me babies appear??any tips on increasing sucess would be sweet...

if your tails have sprouted you will see a rapid daily improvment on your babies if the conditions are kept right (which ive no doubt they are), just let them be until they found their feet so to speak, its just a waiting game now mate, good luck

yeah ayhev-jezvarted is right... if it is warm enough... dont make the rockwool too soggy and they should show their faces in about 5 days.... assume you put em tail down?

they should be able to sprout a bout 1/2" in 5 days or so... some strains go mental like ak48 which is will sprout and have a 2" tail in 3 days

I dont think it matters if the rockwool is to wet to start with,But if u keep adding water it would be problem

I done the same as u tho,Just shook the cubes....

thats fine dude,its not a good idea to keep them soaking wet, altho they can only hold so much water & even when they look dry they still hold quite a fair bit of water, its best to let them use what they have and give em a little every other 3rd day or so as needed, damp or moist to the touch is cool, not dripping,

if you can avoid temptation, dont even look at them for 2days & you will see definate growth, eyeballing them every 5mins wont give you a sense of achievment as you wont really notice anything (its hard not have a wee peak as we all know,but this way will put a grin on your face)

haha..yea..tell me about it..i keep checking them evry 1/2 hour or so..i can't see any thing yet..its only been 24 hours mind you...the seeds should be good..new order from nirvana..k2 and northern lights#5..they all cracked and showed me there tounges..so far so good ay...i killed my last attempt..10 hog seeds..$$$ expensive ones...i used a light underneath to heat the tray...but it was way to hot man...the thermometer inside the box saud 25 deg c...so imagine how hot the actual tray was...nyway..none of them sprouted...awell..we live and learn hey

funny enuff dude, i recently lost a bunch of hog seedlings, out of 15 beans i got ONE pityfull female, 8 males and 6 herms, the one that survived wasnt anything to speak of either, they wherent from THSEEDS by chance where they

dude, they sure were...all the hipe was that they were the bom beans..170 bucks(aussie)..but fukall sprouted...i could have cried..but i percaveered..now im sprouting (trying) some nirvana beans..heaps cheaper..lol..

dude, i hear ya, ive been at this game for sometime now and those hog seeds damn near broke me, just couldnt figure out why the herms where developing, males are part of the game obvioulsy but even still, one female outa 15 @ top dollar prices isnt playing fair in my opinion, so between us that a coupla hundred bucks worth of hard earn cash they have in their pockets.....i wonder how many others on this forum have had their efforts wasted by THSEEDS,

there has been at least 32 others i have heard of on this forum who got nothin but shit from them..1 dude said ya have to grow out 2 or 3 packs of 10 to find the 1 good pheno...so im glad in a way i didnt waste money on newts and lights growin shit...at least with nirvana, im pretty sure ill get a couple of nice females per pack...cheers dude...

WHEN you get your good fems dude, may i suggest keeping a bonsi mother of said plant, theres a very good method and info in this forum, got the actual publication of it yrs ago and its popped up again here, just goes to show, good info lasts a long time

TH seeds Hog was one of the worst strains I've grown out and expensive as hell,what a waste.I dont know if anyone's mentioned it yet and it's too late this time but rockwool cubes are a pretty crappy way to germinate seeds,great for clones but not seedlings.You'd be better off using paper towels or a different method next time

dudes..its so hard to make good descisions hay...there is so much conflicting info around...some ppl say they get near 100% germ and sprout with rockwool, and others say its shit...the dude in the hydro shop swears by the jiffy cubes, but the nirvana grow guide says they slow the growth down dramatically.....why are rockwool cubes no good??does it slow them down ??doi the roots have trouble branching out in the dense medium??soooooooooo confused???

DID ANYONE MENTION : to PH balance the rock wool before you use them????. rock wool comes with a high PH value, usually you soak the blocks in PH balanced water for a 24 hr period...i squeeze the blocks in the sink and squeeze all the crap out, and then repeat process with distilled PH balanced water....i also add some rooting juice to promote root growth...hopefully you wont burn your seedlings like i did my first time.


best way to germinate seed :

i germinate seed in glass of water over a heating pad set on low.
once the seed cracks i put them into peat pellets and i put them into a humidity dome...once they crack the surface i take them out of dome and let them grow in the peat pellet, process is completed once the roots stick out of the bottom. then i transplant into 6x9 inch pots .

ive had 110% success rates with this method. good luck to you
