I have a discussion with somebody. He tells me that is good to do, because you "clean" the plant by doing that, gets all the dust of it. I say its not good because that can cause budrot, and see no reason in washing a plant with water. So he only sprayed them with water ,nothing else, like neem or so.

your opinions please.

I spray mine with water and sometimes some liquid kelp mixed in.. In flower spraying the leaves would be ok but not the buds.. I would do it once in early flower. Also depends on the humidity.

Well maybe he should dust his room 1st.
also putting a filter on the intake is a must.

Spraying the plants that late in flower is a risk im not willing to take. but maybe his buds arent tight at 5 weeks?

very nice discussion moppel....i dont see where spraying buds with plain water would help, you can keep buds clean indoors by not letting outdoor air in,and if the plants where outdoors,it would more then likely cause mold.I spray my buds and leaves in a zig zag pattern with food, and i feed the roots as well, but i would stop after about the 2nd week of september, depending on climate and year, but usually after the 2nd week i stop just to be on the safe side,i didnt do it last year and got grey mold.so i would say no...spraying buds with water wouldnt be that beneficial, but hey to each his own i guess.

The one time I sprayed my grow I ended up with quite a few moldy buds. I no longer do it anymore.....

I've never misted indoor plants, especially after it starts to flower thats just asking for it lol.For a bad magnesium defeciency,I hear its good tofoliar feed with a light dose of epsom salt. One thing I do know from experience is a cool mist humidifier in veg is a fantastic thing to have, besides keeping the plants cooler and their leaves more hydrated,it acts as a natural mite repellent.I swear I havent had a mite outbreak in veg since I started using one about 3 years ago.I used to get them in veg not frequently but every so often

well this is not something i would do. basically once the flowering has begun, i try not to spray anything unless there is no choice due to insects, in which case i will do it up to week 3 of 12/12, beyond that point i will not spray, for no reason. you just encourage possible mold spores to grow if you spray budding plants. the big advantage of indoor growing is the lack of rain turning your harvest to mold. so why take away one of the biggest advantages of indoor growing?

what ever spraying has to be done should be done no later then the 2nd week of 12/12.

i water/spray/rain on them to get rid of residues like neem, etc. I don't do this if they're are developed buds though... that's asking for problems like budmold/rot. I only spray buds if there are bad pests problems.

I would question why there is a noticable amount of dust on his bud? Maybe a clean grow area would cancel the need to spray them down? If you were to spray down to clean at that stage I would maybe crank up the dehumidifier for an hour or so and let them dry out quickly.
