gnats and mold mean time to toss them out. If you bury time in a shallow grave or even an outdoor potted plant you might get a flush later. I you keep them around it will just keep hurting later grows. cakes look like fun but some much work for so little mushy. There are ways to fight them but its just easier to start over.

I love ralphsters I literally have ordered and grew over 20 strains from him. I couldnt name them all if I tried.

Ones that have stuck out to me are Ba Phang Ka, Thai Mystery, and Ba Nathon. All of the strains from Thailand or the far east are huge! The stems are thick and the fruit large.

Hell, I am still growing out and cloning Ba Phang Ka, which I started growing last February. Now all of my mushrooms are at least 2 grams. It isn't rare to get 7+ gram mushrooms.

The BRF cake is good for learning how to grow, but monotubs are where it's at. You can easily get 8 ounces from the first flush. The best part is you don't have to fan it, just let it sit and do it's thing.

start doing bulk subs and get 12-20 grammers. They freak people out. If you start with mutants strains like PE and they grow blobs they can get huge and dense I think I had a 37 gram blob dry. Its funny when a cluster of big ones are trying to open the lids them selves.

Yeah, those sucker gets huge! The biggest one I ever got was 14 grams.

I just made 3 monotubs tonight and did 2 yesterday.
Six gallons of coir and 6 quarts of birdseed.

I might throw some pics up when they are fruiting.

anyone know if this type fruiting chamber has a specific name?
im using some hydroton and perlite, with some air stones under it.

Hey Kelly, that fruiting chamber does have a name, a waste of money!!

Check out the shroomery and search for monotubs, also search for Wild Bird Seed Tek aka WBS Tek.

A monotub will cost you about 25 bucks to make including the tub, coco coir and polyfill. The jars and WBS won't cost much either. The tub keeps the humidity and fresh air exchange where it needs to be when the holes are drilled in the sides and stuffed with polyfil.
