hot tubs!?!?!?!

hot tubs!?!?!?!

Hey stitch, ur the bomb!!! thanx for the effort and insight!! I have 5, 25g rubbermaid seperate rezivors with 4 plants in each. its a dwc system using gh food and h2o2 + fulvic acid, under two 1k hps light. The ventalation is brutal, but high temps are 22 at peek temps( i have a AC unit venting out however) ,its never hot in the room. i went from 1 to 2, 1k-hps lights in a 15X9 foot room and instantly the resivors r heating up so its VERY warm/hot to touch the solution!!?!?! its not my first and have never seen the rez's heat up like this? when they do ,they droop and look horrible,+ im slightly burning them as i was/ am trying to bump up the feed strenght headed to bloom. will a 8" direct out can fan fix the heat?!?! whats the deal with hot soultions ? my ph is never out 0f 5.7-6.3, and my food allways under 750ppm ( gspot and blackberry from VISC) are all 1ft post 4 week veg. Alsow i have some leaf curling like the 'sawtica" kind of bend at the end tips, not clawing or curling down!? I have some brownish roots when they heat up ,and the roots r more spagattie like that they were, typically fiberous like a healthy root sysytem b4 the xtra light was added???? they were perfect till the xtra light , so heat issue is the prob if not ph or ppm right?! thanx and again u ttly rock for the pix and time u've put in!!!!happy holidays :deadxmas::thanks::thanks:

Fishwater, those plants are low in nitrogen, but why are you using lemon juice? It does not work good at all and it does not last and quickly disapates just like chlorine does when you sit your water out.

3 weeks transplant is right around the time when plants will use up there food in the soil mixture.
Smaller plants can stay in the mixture a bit longer, but your plants are low on nitrogen.

Not to mention when you flower your plants around the 4th week or a little before that they will naturally yellow, you want this to happen. I would just let it ride through flowering, if the leaves are quickly going yellow and affecting many, just use some nitrogen based ferts at no more then 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon per gallon of fish emulsion.

Dude your plants look great, don't worry about the yellowing since they are in flowering; you want them to use all the stored nutes.

Just like Corn, corn yellows when it's towards the middle to end of it's life cycle and it's normal.

Bengie, na man those plants look like you harvested them at the right time or slightly over? You smoked some of that yet?

Lil that is great to hear they are really picking up, just make sure when they recover to get them into there own pots :)

MG soils are good, but only if you mix them with another brand the chemical ones are too rich for plants right off the bat.

The organic ones is fine; the reason why peopole don't like MG is, because they listen to MG instructions when it comes to feeding there plants and then they get a result they do not like.

I used MG before I went to hydro shops and I grew out some kick ass plants, first one grew over 6 feet tall and I never had a problem. As long as you know how to use it and it works you should not have a problem.

Though MG does have slightly radioactive elements and most people avoid it for this problem, but if that does not bother you and you don't have access to hydro shops; it's better than nothing at all.

Are these all the same strain these 4 plants? Dude, you gotta get those temps down, there is a few things that is really going wrong here, first off to help keep temps down remove anything that is heat related out of the grow room, ballests, pumps and so forth, if you can get them into an other room,.

another thing the h202 in the res has got to go, it will not only get rid of the bad bacteria, but the good as well and you will end up leaving your plants with little to no protection against the bacteria that invades when you got root rot.

In order to fix your problem you will have to flush the plants and system and clean and sanitize everything water came in contact with and get ahold of some sm90, this will only work if you keep the temps down you either have to get anything that causes heat out of the room and you need to get chillers. You can rotate 2 little bottles that have frozen water and rotate with new ones once the ones you had melted, but this is a bitch if you have high temps cause you wil need to change them every few hours.

When your water temps are high your plants are getting low o2 and this causes them to slow down there feeding. Thus they sit in the nutrients longer and they get burned. When your roots are dying from the low o2 levels it helps boost the bacteria root rot and causes a bad cycle....

So you must get those temps down and clean the system and get some sm90 into the res and stop using h202 in the res

h202 should only be used for dipping, like getting a 5 gallon bucket with 2 tsp h202 per gallon of water and dipping the root rotted plants into the mixture and letting them set for about 30 seconds and then pulling them out and repeat one more time and then put them back into a clean res with the proper solution to rid them of the bacteria, but again this can only be done if ytou get your temps under control otherwise everything will be fruitless and the process will start all over again :(

Thanks for the kind words as well, happy holidays to alll!

Thanks Stitch... Got a copy of your book... it certainly helps.. I think I may have a faulty ph meter and locking N out with screwy ph... got a new one coming... I fed a few of the plants with some earthjuice grow a couple days ago, 1/2 tablespoon/gallon.. not getting any color back yet, so it must be a ph....leaves are actually turning white.. every one of them except the little leaves in the buds.....
I live way out in the boonies, no hydro shops anywhere within 100 miles.. can you a suggest a ph down product I can order somewhere? the EJ brings ph way down, but I dont use it everytime and as near as I can tell my tap water is around 9 ph.....
Thanks again Stitch, you really do rock, I appreciate your help....

Stich- Yeah i smoked it all for the most part already.....got roughly 48 grams dried.....they were really light and wispy not what i was looking for......Big tight buds but i think it comes down to genetics mostly.....maybe some koolbloom or some other supplement to make here puff up....the reason why i thought i harvested a little early is because the hairs were all white not the nice rich orange color showen there seeing as its dried.....the smoke was very HEADY all upstairs for aobut an hr - hour and half then burn outcity.....I was gonna call it "bengie's bedtime blaster" perfect for having getting ready for bed

Yo MynameStitch,

I just wanted to say thank you. I haven't used the guide, bu appreciate the effort. a 1000 blessings to you bro or sis!

obviously i'm not going to read all of the posts in such a massive thread. it seems to me your ph guidelines are a bit off for both soil and hydro. optimal ph for soil is 6.5 and hydro is 5.8. where on earth did you get your numbers from? i can't imagine what my coco grows would look like using these numbers. (don't mean to sound like a richard!)

So far your only using the bloom and nothing else?

Your PPM's are way too high for the size of your plant, bring them down to 800, so you will have to flush your plants out with a lot of fresh water, you can use tap water to flush them out.....

You got updated pictures of this plant? Show the whole plant without the HPS light on.

Great to hear fish! Thanks for the compliments :) You can use pH down from a pet shop, but you need to make sure it says it's safe for plants on the back and make sure it does not list Sodium of any kind in it and you will be alright. Do you let your earthjuice sit out for 24 hours? You are supposed to mix it and let it sit and the pH will rise.

Your water is really hard... get a water test kit that has a ppm strip so you can find out what ppms your tap water is, too overly hard water will cause problems with the way plants absorb NPK, but it has to be really bad... You have updated pictures?

You have pictures of the plants?

Also moisture control is the worst stuff you can use for growing pot, the beads they use in there hold too much moisture for too long for the likes of cannabis.

tight internodes can be caused by genes and or lighting spectrum,.

Blue spectrum calls for short squat plants where red/orange spectrum taller plants.

You using tomato plant food? Have you checked the pH yet?
You using tap ro?
How big is the plant and what size pot is it in? How much of your nute you are using and how often?
WHat lighting you have them under? temps? humidity?

rollyroll that is because they are slightly high ppms, lower it a bit, the issue of thye yellowing looks to be nitrogen, when the tips of the leaves go like that, most of the time it's from a burn, high ppms.

2 months old in hydro those plants are supposed to be bigger.....
High ppms slows the plants progress down greatly.

I would ease back to 800-1000. keep around 100 or a little higher of cal mag in there since your using RO water.

Also your neem oild can burn your plants, your not supposed to be using it like that, it's once every 7 days if I remember correctly.

For the fungus gnats get some MOsiquito dunks also known as BT and use 1/2 dunk to 1 gallon of water.

If the pests are out of control or a lot use 1 whole dunk per gallon and repeat every 7 days until they are gone.

Bengie, ya the picture you posted was obviously a bit after you harvested. most orange hairs are a sign the plant is nearing, that is why the trichcomes must be looked at in order to know the final chop date..... heads are cloudy/amber and this has a lot to do with strain which more color of trichcomes it has.

the moister control yea i know its tough on cannabis but i was carful with it. i used only one quart in a three gallon pot. the moister never falls below a 6 on my guage.

ph is runs a lil high for cannabis using this mg line of products its normaly an 7 lowest ive took a reading of was 6.7 i have a digital an probe and use strips ph is every thing with nut take up. its my peppeve!

ok i use the mg 15-30-15 at half strenth its easy to over do it with mg nitrogen burns come easy with this product.

my water is off tap the purest around probobly its ppm is between 006 and never above 033 deppending the time of month.

the plant is an unknown strain. i found it in the yard.lol. so it was nomanted for experments.it stands 18 inches and it was flowering when found. i revegged it.

temps run around 68f to 76f the humity is 33% to 43%

ive got it under cools and warm white floros i have just four bulbs for this one plant as i have it in its own closet.

three fans running in one pulls one pushes and the other osalating

this one is strong in smell it out does a room of 30 plants by her self!!!!

Hey jyme, sorry for the late reply I was on vacation and I just got back today; I will be on later to asnwer your questions.

I will say that that does not look like heat stress, the tan coloration it shows looked to be something the plant was locked out/ deficienct in.

If it was heat stress more of the leaf would be affected. Not to mention with it being old it's hard to tell what it was, but it leaves little hints as to what may have been the problem.
More of the outer edges were affected than anything else...... so like I said it's hard to tell since it's old....

I will post more in detail tonight, right now I gotta get unpacked and and get some supper going!
