Split AC Question?

I recently purchased a 12,000 but mini split ac system. My question is......does anyone see a major problem putting the compressor unit that is located outside the room in my garage, instead of outdoors? Am I missing the problem of not putting this outdoors, besides it expelling heat?

Thanks,

ive been reading and thinking about a/c lots lately. i got a dual hose portable, yet to be installed, but its my intention to put the hoses through the wall into the rest of the building. but the building is by no means airtight, its very unairtight actually. so i wonder if your garage is well built, insulated, etc. maybe the heat would build up in there

I did a few months work installing and repairing air conditioning units and i didnt see anywhere with the compressors inside.

as long as you have good ventilation in you garage, there won't be any problem. The cooler the outside air is, the more efficient it will run.

Unless you garage door is open or well ventalated probably not a good idea. It will heat up garage quick and then will use more electricity and have troubles cooling not to mention your garage will be hot as hell which most normally are in the summer anyways. Why not just put it outside?

The point of the outdoor condensor unit is to remove heat from the room through the freon lines and expulse them outside through the radiator fins.

Keep you garage open about a foot and a half and keep your attic access open and your golden. It would be better outside.....but you only have a one ton system which is far fron a large unit. Where are you located at?? Deep south or north?? That will be the determining factor here.

i assume you want to put in the garage so when it's runnin year round your neighbors aren't like wtf is this guy up to? i would say put it in the garage and then throw in one of those exhaust fans you see at bars sometimes to get rid of the smoke....this way neighbors don't see anything suspicious at all and garage stays at a good temp.

Feminised- Let us know how that unit works out. I'm seriously researching those right now but haven't heard/read anything about them in regards to grower's success with them.
