Split 2 main branches in the crotch

Hi y'all. well i fucked up this morning trying to pull a branch to train it through my trellis and ending up splitting right down the center of the plant probably 3inches long. it split where i topped it a good month or more ago. You guys think she will recover? I did my best and used the green garden tape and wrapped it tight. I was thinking of zip tie but wouldn't that choke the plant off and stress her even more? My pops accidentally did the same thing the other day on a different plant. I guess when i made the main top i didn't leave enough stick? i just topped it as close to the two nodes as possible. Thanks friends

It was a Sour Bubble from seed, she is a beauty. Big thick burly branches. The one my pops fucked up is Berry Nice. Blueberry X Mr. Nice. Ive been feeding them Silica every once in a while, maybe not enough? thanks again peeps

not hvaeing seen the damage, but im still going to say she will be all right
/lets be optimistic here!

as long as she still has enough connection to the main stem she should be ok
the two things we want to do here would be offering support so the branches do not continue to split and then seal the wound so its not an entry for stuff

you said you wrapped her with the green tape ,so that should seal the wound together and offer support

the wire wrap may help as long as its not too tight, to support the split area
/may like a ring to loosely hold the branches close so there is minimal outward pressure on the tear

maybe also run some support form the trellis to the plants so they have some support there as well

weve all been there man and have over twisted or bent a branch
hope your plant is not thatr badly damaged and continues to grow
im amazed at home much abuse these plants can take

damn thing is like a weed~

Thanks Pop, it would be pretty devastating if the 2 don't make it. We only have 13 outdoor plants. The one my pops split was 4-5 days ago, since it isn't showing signs of dying knock on wood. I had to pull a nice looking Critical Kush plant, i can't believe i waited till it got 5 feet to finally figure it was a dude lol, i could have sworn i seen a hair or two before i plugged it

I've had a 4 ft plant full of buds split right down the center all the way. Taped it up and it was fine.

Nice, I'm just worried once it starts putting actual weight on the plant. I only have 7 1/2 8 foot high of space to work with. Im gonna have to bend those suckers over sooner or later and try and grow em lateral . right now i have maybe 2- 2 1/2 feet to work with and still have a month or so of veg/stretch even though its suppose to be a heavy Indica dom the Sour Bubble. Im not really worried of the Berry Nice she is looking better

This has happened to me several times.
What you did is what I always did (green tape).
If the branch is not severely wilted (after a couple hours) it should be fine.
Try to prevent the stalk from splitting any further.

thanks for the feedback guys. i have another noob question about spraying neem oil. Pure neem oil from Dyna Gro. I can't get it to mix properly, Ive tried using warm water but the stuff just keeps floating to the top. I been trying to mix that and SM 90 as a wetting agent out of a atomizer for spraying outside. I was told my water isn't warm enough? should i be using hot water for the neem to fully dissolve? Thanks

You can also try AgSil16 from buildasoil as an emulsifyer. There's a video on that site somewhere that shows a guy mixing the neem oil and it's a bitch... You might need to take a whisk to that shit.

I split a plant in two a month ago while doing some stress bending above the "Y" . I grabbed some medical tape. 1/2inch wide white stuff cuz I had it handy. Held the split back together tightly and wrapped it all around in every way in could. Month later and in an 72 liter pots , it's like it never happened, she's well past turning into a big bush :D

Duct tape works wonders I have something against that green tape. Good luck keep irrigation water off the wound.
