I heard of a kid who grew a third eye and then...oh, that was on google too...sorry no first-hand witness...hehe
I think it's still speculation, but any type of sugar no es bueno....especially processed in any fashion, have you tried honey?

Honey is not damaging to your body man, it's totally natural.

It's the processed and refined sugars that are harmful.

So because it's artificial sweetener and not sugar that mean it's perfectly fine?
Personally I'd rather take my chances with normal sugar than that artificial chemical crapola...

no but what the hell would be so bad about it? you're worried about this, worry about the chicken you eat or something, one of the dirtiest things we eat. or fast food, this is not a big deal.

Well It's surcralose like sweet and low. Suposedly it gives you cancer so I'm sure it can do other things....

Artificial sweeteners are wrong. Check this out:

For all the dire health problems associated with aspartame -- the worst of them being cancer -- the original "anything-but-sugar" substitute may have an ideal purpose to exist, not as a food additive, but as an ant poison
Already aware of aspartame's origins as a toxic chemical, a health-conscious consumer with an ant problem emptied one packet of aspartame in the corner of each of her bathrooms two years ago. The "sweet" solution worked brilliantly, as she's seen no signs of carpenter ants crawling around for the past year.

Aspartame may be just the thing for getting rid of fire ants (impervious to many poisons) too, although this solution takes a bit more effort. Initially, fire ants ignored their aspartame treat until a light rain moistened it. After the rain, however, the fire ants came back with a vengeance, taking the aspartame back to the mound by the hundreds. Within two days, any evidence that fire ants existed at all, save for an empty mound, vanished.

No mystery aspartame works like a pesticide, as the asparctic acid contained in this toxic product is a well-documented excitotoxin that causes specific brain cells to become excessively excited to the point they quickly die, just as both kinds of ants did.

Makes you wonder if aspartame is a far safer, better alternative to getting rid of lawn and home pests than the average toxic pesticides found at your neighborhood hardware store ...

Maybe you should wash and cook your chicken properly before you eat it? lol
:yummy:

There a big difference between a few harmless bacteria and a man-made chemical with dangerous side effects when consumed in large amounts...

And I don't eat fast food...well not McD's, KFC or anything anyway.

I think a LOT of people are under the illusion that if it's in your food then it must be safe...this could not be further from the truth.

It makes me sick the amount of shit they get away with these days.

Makes you wonder why there's so many people dying of cancer in these modern times don't it? This wasn't happening 50 years ago when people ate home cooked meals instead of all this processed crap with horrible additives to give flavour and keep it preserved.

personally Ive never tried splenda, nor do I really have any desire to.

this is from wikipedia, so it should be taken with a grain of... um... sugar
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Splenda

Sucralose has been accepted by several national and international food safety regulatory bodies, including the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Joint Food and Agriculture Organization/World Health Organization Expert Committee on Food Additives, The European Union's Scientific Committee on Food, Health Protection Branch of Health and Welfare Canada and Food Standards Australia-New Zealand (FSANZ).The acceptable daily intake for sucralose is 5 mg / kg of body weight per day.

"In determining the safety of sucralose, FDA reviewed data from more than 110 studies in humans and animals. Many of the studies were designed to identify possible toxic effects including carcinogenic, reproductive and neurological effects. No such effects were found, and FDA's approval is based on the finding that sucralose is safe for human consumption." (FDA Talk Paper T98-16)

There is evidence that Sucralose can cause cancer. "Sucralose was weakly mutagenic in a mouse lymphoma mutation assay" (from Department of Health and Human Services, Food and Drug Administration, 21 CFR Part 172, Docket No. 87F-0086 http://www.cfsan.fda.gov/~lrd/fr980403.html)

Concerns have also been raised about the effect of sucralose on the thymus gland, a gland that is important to the immune system. A report from NICNAS cites two studies on rats, both of which found "a significant decrease in mean thymus weight" at a certain dose.[1] (These and other studies were considered by regulators before concluding that sucralose was safe.)

Chlorine atoms are covalently bonded to the carbon atoms in the sucralose molecule, making it a chlorocarbon. Many chlorocarbons are toxic; however, sucralose is unlike these chemicals because it is extremely insoluble in fat and does not accumulate in fat like most chlorinated hydrocarbons. In addition, sucralose does not break down or dechlorinate, according to a scientific review published by one of its vendors.[1]

The bulk of sucralose ingested does not leave the GI tract and is directly excreted in the feces. The small amount that is absorbed from the GI tract is removed from the blood stream by the kidneys and excreted in the urine. Sucralose is digestible by a number of microorganisms and is broken down once released into the environment.

Critics of sucralose often favor natural alternatives, including Xylitol (Birch sugar widely used during World War II), Malitol, Maltitol, Isomalt (popular in some European countries), and the unapproved sweetener Stevia (widely used in Japan), which is sold on many sites claiming that sucralose is unsafe. In the US, Stevia can only be sold as a dietary supplement, not a sweetener, and it may not be sold at all in the UK.

Splenda may not be, but aspartame(nutrasweet) is present in 9000 foodstuffs and beverages.

So its fairly insidious shit....and one to avoid if you don't want symtoms such as:

Brain tumors
Birth defects
Diseases like lymphoma, diabetes, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, fibromyalgia, and chronic fatigue
Emotional disorders like depression and anxiety attacks
Epilepsy/seizures
Migraines
Numbness
Hearing Loss and ringing in the ears
Blindness, blurred vision and other eye problems
Stomach disorders

Any body can find a reason to not eat any type of food. Hotdogs cause cancer, beef causes cancer, flouride causes cancer, power lines cause cancer, using a microwave causes cancer, not enough oranges causes cancer, too many oranges causes cancer. Eating during the third full moon in the summer soltice at 8:43pm while standing on one leg and barking at your neighbor gives you cancer. See what I mean? If it tastes good to you and gives you no major noticable side effects, use it. If you are diebetic and would rather use something that may be bad for you instead of using sugar with will kill you, then use it. If you struggle with obesity and are at risk for heart desease, use it. If you are in perfectly good health and it makes no difference to you what so ever,.........don't use it.

The body doesn't cope well with sugar let alone chemical sugars. It's your body - so do what you want with it. Being informed will help you make better choices and if enough people become informed about the shit we are being forced to consume then we will in turn put these "people" outta business by not buying their crap. So, it's a bit silly to choose ignorance, if you get my point?

A corporation will not care about you - only the money they make from you. The FDA IS DODGY AS YOU LIKE. Wanna believe them instead? Your body - your call.

Don't eat food with preservatives as many of these have been genetically modified. GM food is just like playing Russian roulette with your health.
Don't eat too much salt and sugar, buy organic wherever possible. Increase your intake of biophotons (sun ripened stuff). Avoid toxic sweeteners.

A few tips to living well. Probably a better bet than thinking "it all gives you cancer so what the hell - I'll just eat any old shit"
