spiral setup for tall plants

Years ago grew some thai from seed. Seeds were rare but these were my own from real thai stick. Problem is they grow so tall... so I came up with this crazy idea... two plants grown in a spiral. Sort of a 4 foot cylinder with 400 w hps hanging in the middle, and several fluorescents around the outside. The cylinder material will be translucent flexable plastic used for greenhouses... its like fiberglass. Plants will grow along outside of cylinder and spiral in alternating layers maybe use weights to train plants to grow sideways. Have I lost my mind or does this seem doable.?

Good concept .
Prolly try decreasing the hours of light in mid to late flower after starting out with 11 / 13 rather than 12 / 12
Look into super cropping . That will help with training the branches to stay in the sweet spot of your lamp/s .
Also the Revival of the Ultimate Sativa thread here . Lots of good tips on managing Sativas .

Thanks for sharin

I would go with a wall of buds, namely, line your walls with orange construction netting, and use the walls as a trellis. As plants get taller, just train them to the netting, with pots right up against the wall. This works well with Hempy buckets, and of course if you have high ceilings, it works really well. Ideal setup for tall plants. Check it out in Marlow's "WOW" thread, or the Hempy buckets with coco thread. Look in my gallery for tall plants, and the building of the wall netting.
