wondering if anyone knows of a cheap, organic way to get rid of what i assume to be spider mites(they look like little brown/yellow spiders that form small, thin webs in between fingers of leaves and @nodes...)
any help's much appreciated

neem oil.

are you in your flowering cycle yet??

if no, spray with neem oil mixed with hot water.

make sure you get the undersides of all leaves.

do this once a week for 3 weeks.

you not only need to kill the visible mites, but their eggs, too. (hence the need to spray 3-4 times.)

clean your space and bomb it for good measure. :bat:

kill kill kill. :bat:

http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=18473 just make sure you wash of your leaves good after this mix and dont do it under your lights...
Also ceck out soem no pest strips at lowes... You can also use rubbing alcohol to help fight the fuckers... 2 other things that help me rid of when i had bug problems are Organocide and spitermite control and they are both organic.... But the first step is to make sure they are mites with a scope cause if they are not you may want to use other products... Yea man kill the borg they can spread quickly.... I am also told that if put outside that the bugs should go away as mother nature will do her thing... Hope it helps some and you know where to find me if you have any more?... PeAcE

sorry, i was thinking...

sorry, i was thinking...

good call, wrecked!

i was thinking, and one 'remedy' might not do for some...

try whatever you have to to eliminate these fu!kers!!

you said "cheap & organic"...if the infestation is bad, and you don't want to lose the plants, do what you can...but hurry.

neem, spidermite control, schultz 3-in-1, chili pepper spray, avid, no pest strips....ladybugs, predator mites...fogger...daisy cutter...hehe :yoinks:

1-2 inch of green sand or perlite on top of soil also helps takes little longer but very effective. soil gnat larve in soil mature come to surface breed lay egg in soil cycle repeate's. green sand or perlite stops the adults from lay eggs in soil and young gnats to reach surface. this in conjunction with pest strips will get em if ya dont want no pest strips try few ladybugs each day at lights out in the grow. lady bugs are cheap i can get a 1500 count container for about 5$ us just add 50-100 a day type thing when lights go out :)

I just saw this clip of the african plains and there is this certain fruit tree that drops fruit that ferments NATURALLY very quickly. All of these different types of animals were all drunk and falling down, it was hilarious! :biglaugh: :friends: :biglaugh:

All man does is put a spin on God's shit :D

Didn't mean to turn mites into theology but I did :D

If your in organic, you dont want to use H2O2, it will kill benefifial stuff, use the neem and sprays, or a flea and tick bomb with pytheriums(sp)

i can't believe people are still recomeding those no pest strips. they are fucking deadly and in no way organic. do a google for the no pest strips before you touch those things.

there are different ways of fighting spider mites. neem is one way, but it involves multiple spraying, not just 2 or 3 times. advantage is its fully harmless as long as you rinse your plants off by spraying just water once in a while.

if your plants are in the veg phase it makes more sense in my opinion to use pyrethrum or even vertimek. the vertimek is incredibly good and kill all mites as well as the eggs in one go. its only active for as long as the plants are wett with it but the smell it gives off is enough to kill the mites and eggs you might have missed inbetween leaves. this stuff really works like nothing else i've ever tried. pyrethrum on the other hand is a natural poison made from orchids which only works on cold bloded creatures. this stuff needs to be sprayed very thorowly, as it depends on contact. the best way to use it if the plants are s,all enough is to dunk them upsidedown in it, this way one time does the job. the pyrethrum can even be used up to three weeks before harvest according to the botle. not that i would use it once beyond the first 2 or 3 weeks of 12/12. ofcourse the natural way would be with predetor mites, these can be ordered, just be sure to order the right ones for your grow rooms conditions. some thrive on higher rh and some on lower rh and if you get the wrong ones they will not be able to reproduce and establish them selves. best of luck in your war with the spider mites.

peace out

what is more organic than Oxygenated Water? it will kill beneficial organisms only if you water with it. but not if you spray your plants with it to get rid of the mites and its eggs.

although, i am not sure whether the eggs can be deep into the soil? if they are superficial, you can always spray the surface of the soil without harming the organisms co-existing with the plant´s roots.

peace.

"I use the same solution as a spray on leaf. It seems to increase the rate of growth. The overspray is washed into the hydroponic reservoir and kills microorganisms in the tank, resulting in cleaner water."

I read it, and it says the remainiong is washed into the Hydro water, OK. So how much h2o2 is being "washed "into the soil, i don't know but I'd hate to be spending all this money on Ferts, and EWC's ect, to have that shit in my soil. But who knows if it's enough h2o2 to screw it up.

Spider-mite preditors

:bat: We are trying Spider-mite Destroyers and Spider-mite Preditors takes a couple of weeks but they never stop working they stay in the room after your plants are out and keep working. :bat: They don't just eat the Spider-mites they lay thier eggs in them. :dueling: They are hard to fight.

:yeahthats If you are looking for an organic way to kill mites that is the way to go. It takes a few weeks for them to take control, but that is the only way I will deal with mites any more.

I ahve tried everything else and the predator mites and mite destroyers are the only way to go.

well well thats interesting. are those spidermite destroyers fairly new? the predators are bottled together so at least one of the types is the right type for the conditions in ones room. very clever. i would love to hear how well they work, do they achieve a total extermination? the few times i tried uesing predetor mites i must have goten the wrong ones or something, as they didn't do anything. but i have heard people say they keep them in check with the predetors.

peace out
