Spider Mites!!!!!!!

Okay, to cut a long story short:

I let 2 plants finish in my indoor growroom(they originaly grew Outdoors).

The two plants had a totally different genetical makeup.

One plant was attacked so hard by spider mites that I had to toss the entire plant in the garbage.

The webs were everywhere and even the inner parts of the buds were full of those crawling little fuckers.

The other plant was harvested tonight and even after closer inspection there were no mites detected on this one.

My question is:

Is it normal that spidermites choose a favorite plant, or let me better say: obviously they seem to prefer special plants?

I would have normally thought that those bastards attack the entire garden, but in this case they all concentrated on one plant and didn´t seem to like the other one.

It was a pretty naive idea to place Outdoor plants in my Indoor room, even tough the buds grew very dense, and the harvest of the plant that wasn´t attacked is BIG!

Gonna clean the whole room tomorrow,- hopefully this is not the beginning of a lasting spider mite problem in my indoor space.

Sounds like we floatn the same boat... I took clones off an outdoor plant, relocated some spidermites to a nice indoor complex.

Of my plants, some get bad mites, while others in the same room will be unaffected.
The biggest factors appear to be:

-Proximity to heat source (light bulbs)
-Proximity to fan
-Strain

Plants near fans get fewer infestations.
Plants near bulbs get more infestations.
Certain strains seem to be darlings of the little bastards. At teh moment, the #1 most popular strain for mites to go live on is my Motarebel Toxic Lemon. Black Indica, JillyBean, and UK Cheese are also right up there. I have to pay special attention that crops of those strains are not decimated by pests.
No-pest strips work VERY well, but my grow area is nowhere near a living space.
For living space grows, foliar application of Avid or a more natural pesticide is important, as is keeping good air movement, low temps, and clean conditions with no dead leaf litter kicking around.
