a friend of mine is nearing the end of his 1st grow..he has 12 females flowering under 1 400HPS in about 4x4...we discovered spider mites in veg and sprayed the plants w/hotsauce-garlic solution...thought we got rid of them but now 7 weeks into flower they are back with a vengence!!! they arent totally infested but a few plants have quite a few of the lil fuckers...is there anything he shud do to get rid of them and/or is there anything we can do after harvest to prevent smoking mites IE water curing or rinsing buds b4 drying???

use a shop vac and suck them off. I have had to do this before. It gets rid of alot of mites and their mess they make.

I've had great success with the no pest strips. You have to treat the area for quite awhile to get rid of them all though. Make sure you stop using them before your flush though.

When I use a no pest strip its always the same procedure and it has always waorked 100%.I'll hang the no pest strip in the middle of the room for 48-72 hours, then I'll remove it for 24-48 hours. Then I'll rehang it for 24 hours to catch any hatchlings or stragglers. This has always got rid of the spidermites for me,the red european kind not the spotted mite.I'm sure it works just as well on the 2 spotted spidermite also

Skeletor, I always respect your advice. I take it all the concerns about dichlorvos don't bother you? You hang the strips even late in flower?

This same thing happened to me around 5-6 weeks into flower, and wimping out over the pest strips, I just hand removed as many as I could, dabbed with some alcohol here and there, and raised the humidity some. Plants made it to harvest a little speckled, but ok.

DON'T spray with neem late in flower, you may slow down the mites but your buds won't taste very nice either.

Dont bother me a bit bro,I've hung them with a couple weeks until harvest and have no problem smoking it at all. Here's my choices,I use the NPS and dont lose a thing, the erb itself is al;ways fine afterwards.Or I can not use it and possibly lose thousands and have to start all over again, what would you do?I only leave it in there long enough to do the job, thats usually not too long,it has never failed me not once. The majority are dead in 48 hours every time.I wouldnt use it as a preventative like some folks, but if I get mites I know exactly what to do and it hardly even bothers me if it happens
