spider mite like beings in veg area....nuke from orbit?

Took the day off work today to perform some much needing transplanting and cloning...

What do I find in my basement veg area? Some spidermite like creatures spinning webs from my light fixture to the surrounding walls.

I looked fairly carefully, and could not find any of them actually living ON the plants, some of which are ready to go under 12:12.

Now, my questions are:

1) Is there a chance these could be some type of mini spider that just LOOKS like a spider mite, but is something else?

2) Should I bugbomb the place with the plants in place with a fogger just to be sure? These are still in veg, and will be rinsed afterwards so any residual chemical will be long gone by the time they have been flowered and harvested.

They sound like regular spiders, if they fed on living plants, why would they be on your light fixture in your basement? Just my 2 cents.

The spidermites would def be on the plants
Little spots that are actually bite marks would be everywhere
And if the webs were so bad they were on your light fixture you would be able to see hundreds of lil buggers crawling everywhere

Regular spiders are your friends. Their webs are like non toxic sticky papet

Yeah...I eventualy figured out these were either tiny spiders or baby spiders, but there were hundreds of them that appeared out of nowhere.

Ended up just vacuuming them up. I am normally tolerant of spiders, but there were just too many.

Personally I don't mind some spiders, but when they get out of control who wants something jumping down from the ceiling on them. On the other side, fungus gnats, white flies, and all that... biological controls the best controls. I like smoking bud n not everything that got sprayed on them for 3 months.

pennies for those.

Here's what I do weather permitting-Take them outside and with the hose on low and shower spray the mites off from the underside up. The plants will get heavy and will have to be supported. Clean the pots and trays. Clean the room perfectly. Put dry plants back in and continue. In a week 10 days bomb it because you never get them all. Use Neem oil of course. A organic pesticide too.

Who cares Nuke with Neem Oil anyways, tho not so close to harvest as Neem is an acquired taste

Good For You... stick to Neem Oil, get cold pressed at your Garden Store, hand spray 1x per month regular to prevent panic attacks like this, and is Organic, and very good all round nucker!
Bug bombs have all types of heavy chems in it, that you will inhale then months later burn to your lungs ....go figure ...?

You most likely just had a spider egg hatch and they all were leaving the nest and settin up shop. Its happened to me many times in my garage. Just get what you see. If theres some that dont bother you or your grow leave em to control the flies and such. Do it before they get bigger becaus having a large spider drop on you is freaky. Also make sure theyre not black widows, those bitches hatch 1000+ per egg and you really dont want that.
