im so upset with the clones a friend gave me. ha, guess why. anyways, i have some bigg outdoor plants that were grown from seed, and three clones that have been outside next to one of my big plants, they are now 1-1.5' tall. can spider mites travel to another plant with actual contact? they cant fly right?

also im planning on using spinosad on the affected clones, i heard lots of good things about it for thrips, but what about spider mites, which from the product description it kills, but how well?

im so upset, thinking id never have this problem if i decided not to buy 3 clones :wallbash: , after already having 9 big plants from seed. im very paranoid that they'll spread and ill be having an infestion during flowering.

i have another week atleast until flowering starts i believe

spinosad? looks good. avids too expensive.
can hot shots no pest strips be used outdoors?
id like to not use them ^^ but i know itd be effecient, and my plants are still veg so a wash would be easy...

NEEM OIL

dip the entire clone in a soultion of neem, an emulsifier such a dish soap, and water

mites will be gone forever

spray undersides of leaves if damage occurs on larger plants

well i guess you can't

just spray them the fuck down
especially the undersides of the leaves

spidermite eggs are on the underside

neem oil kills the eggs and makes the adults so sick they can't breed anymore.

I would spray them well initially and then 2 days later. that should knock out any nasties

oh I see gotcha

I believe that is possible but if so neem is organic and many people add it to the reservoirs or water for that exact reason

ok thank you for your help. im down to neem, spinosad, and avid(only if they have small 1/2 oz portions, which i heard kill all after one application, and keep em away)

i heard neem plugs the holes in the leaves, the stomatas are they called? and slows growth exponentially.... i think maybe spinosad applied, then neem a few days later would do the trick.

so neem, mixed with soap and water , then spray the leaves a bunch. how much soap per gallon lets say?

6 or so drops. the neem will have a dosage on the bottle, i usually use slightly less than what they say and make sure and shake it really well before you spray.

IF YOUR DIPPING CLONES BE CAREFUL! No matter how much wetting agent (dish soap) you put in your solution, the oil and water separate. The oil on top. This will burn the shit out of and kill your clones...
I wouldn't dip in an oil solution, Dont Bug Me is $11 and wont kill your clones, dip in that please...

Make a plastic tent and BOMB them with 8000-10,000 ppm of CO2. you plant will love it and all bugs from the planet earth will die. Theoretically, that is. Never done it, but have read its foolproof.

I was given some 1 foot plants in 3 gallon puts at the beginning of teh season... they were totally infested with mites. I just sprayed them with a rotation of Wai Kula (a neem/mahogany, a garlic and one other) products and bug-buster-o (pyrethrins) . Did the little fuckers in after about a week. it was a bad case. You can use any of that stuff up will about 2 weeks into flowering.

spinosad will not kill mites, it's great for thrips, but the mites will laught at you

avid is very toxic shit i wouldn't spray that shit

floramite is a safer alternative, just as expensive as avid, someone online sells small bottles for $30, can't remember who but i'm sure someone will chime in

floramite is the only thing i've ever seen WIPE OUT an infestation....the shit KILLS mites dead, still you should be careful when spraying (dont spray your eyes/mouth/etc... lmao), and wash your clothes after spraying (according to instructions)

neem is messy and stinky, it does "wax" your leaves (leaves oily residue), however a few applications over the course of a week or two should kill the majority of them

i've dealt with mites a LOT over the years (they thrive here) and the best way i've found to deal with an infestation is to shower them (really blast the undersides of leaves especially), then spray completely with floramite that evening after they've dried off

if the plants are outside and you live in a dry area, you bet your ass they'll be back, they always find a way

if this doesn't help for some reason try searching the site there's a million threads on spider mites already

good luck with the bastards  :joint:
