Spider Mite Eradication Decimation Initiative

Well, it seems that there is something worse than paranoia--Spider mites--surely there is a wore name for them. I've read quite a bit on these guys and they seem to be super resistant to eradication. I'm in between crops right now, and I really want to get control of the situation. I need additional suggestions on my current regimen.

1. Harvested plants (carried them out of room in a sterilite-trimmed them in the bathtub after rinsing with the shower, hung them on a rope w/ vaseline at the ends, above a white plastic lid sprayed with that Home Defense Max (sprayed walls and around door of this closet). Bagged and disposed of all the yummy trimmings.
Hung the trees in a new and separate space albeit on the same floor-future plans for another tray. I see them crawling on the ends of the stalks and some are stuck in the vaseline trying to crawl up the rope to escape--DIE!!!

2. Sterilized the trays w/ 10% bleach solution for over an hour. Sprayed walls, baseboards and corners with Home Defense Max-in a half assed manner. Took existing pots, hydroton, and double bagged in the trash and disposed of quickly. All other hydroton in the house was put through a 1 hour 10% bleach soak, rinsed and currently drying.--DIE!!!

3. I've got a small tray of future mothers/next crop/future clones on the other side of the curtain of the recently harvested plants. They were pest free until last week and i saw one mite on one leaf. I've sprayed periodically with safer's fungicide neem oil. I sprayed again last night- placed a hot shot chlorovos strip at the base of the plants and sealed the whole tray with tape and plastic bags for 10 hours. On the same note of destruction, I set off a deep reach fogger bomb after turning off all air movement. Next morning, air'd out.--DIE!!!

4. I'm ready to clone, move mothers to a clean space, and start flowering with this batch, but I'm only 2 days after the main stage has been harvested--I'm thinking thre are bugs ready to hatch if I start using it too soon. Temps are 72-78F 50-68% humidity lately. I'm intent on running a pyrethrin fumigator in a couple of days and then another cypermethrin fogger a few days after that. Of course I'll cover the vegging plants during those hours. DIE!!!

5. One last thing-I'm hoping to take them out of the tray and blast them in the shower, but I'm wary as the roots look entangled in the tray--in another week or two they will be root-locked together. DIE!!!

Is this a good plan?
Any suggestions for "bug-free" clones?
When can I use my main stage. I've heard 5-20days depending on environment?
Are the mites from my last harvest still a threat in a nearby, treated closet while the plants are still drying? if so,How should I kill them?

Thanks for any input-big smokes to you!

Spider mites burn in hell or my bowl if that's quicker!!!

I like the idea of these bugs..
heres a brief run down:
"Growers throughout the world have proven the usefulness of the predator mite, Phytoseiulus Persimilis, in the control of spider mites. The adult predatory mite, which is reddish-orange, consumes from 5 to 20 of the spider mite adults or eggs daily, and is harmless to people and plants. The female lays over 50 eggs that reach maturity in half the time it takes spider mites to develop. When the food source is gone, the predator will die off."

i got a couple clones from a friends outdoor garden a few months ago. They were put straight into our table, under a 1000 wt ( off to the side) the next morning when the light came on I was out there checking them out. YEAH. They had the spider mites all over them. I smacked myself for not looking before i plopped them in there :bashhead: .
I Grabbed them out  , took them all the way across the yard, and went an got my SM-90. made a solution at 2mls per gallon. Doused the fuck outa them, I mean soaked them! Might as well of just dunked them into the jug . The very next day did the same thing ( the bottle says to treat every two wks, I believe). I ended up giving them that evening, to my brother to put out doors in his garden, as he despratley needed clones to put out, as it was almost June!
Well. I shoulda kept them! LOL Turns out my double does of SM-90 worked wonders :Jump: ! Not a mite on them. An still to this day, not a bug has touched them. there bangin', and just starting to get lil buds now, and they're still just as happy and healthy as could be.
Morel of the story. SM-90 WORKS! smells kinda nice too :D

floramite/avid works IF you get everyone of them fucker's....

if you miss just one you will get them back.

too get rid of them i took cut's of my moms n dipped them 3-4 times in avid and took them to a new house with a new ballast/bulb/hood new soil ect..... then flowered everything i had (moms) when i took down my gear i made sure everything was sprayed/clean be for moving it to the new place and started over....it was the only way double check everything that come's into your room and make sure your room is sealed and filter your intake.... i hear "hotshot's" work but have not try'd my self...

all 2nd FRIENDinDEED, DEATH TO ALL SPIDER MITES

Okie does, I got some expensive Azatrol 1/4oz to 30oz sprayer with 25ml of penetrator. Drenched all. Told to do it 3x at one week intervals. It's week 1 of flower, now, and I think I'm gonna go ahead and take clones.

I found out that some pyrethrin bombs can cause the mites population to grow in a frenzy after treatment. If you use the pyrethrin bomb your supposed to followup with something different a week later to kill the insecticide resistant nymphs that just hatched. also, If you use the pyrethrins they suggest having the piperynl b. in it which is very toxic--so beware, and I would avoid getting any of it on my skin.

I also found that the "deep fog" has cyperpermethrin (aka demon) which is much more effective immediately and residually. They cost more however. $9 for 3 at HD

Also, After the buds were dried, I've bagged them and put them in the freezer over night just in case, they was still alives in der.

As for the new ones, I can microscopically see eggs here and there on some leaves. Today, I'll remove all lower foliage, move one of them to a mama area, take clones from the others-with a retreat of azatrol in one week. I've noticed that they love the 24 hour light/cloning environment versus flowering light cycle. Lost 2 sets of 40 clones this summer. Hopefully not again.

I've also got some dr.doom spot treatment for spider mites, Might use it between weeks 2 and 3 of azatrol
Blasting with water 2x a day under the leaves as well.

If all this doesn't work-I might have to start from scratch with a 3x bomb over 3 weeks.

Spider mite activity has ceased although i still see cloudy eggs under leafside w/ 30x scope. The azatrol tx ate up the leaves on the lower part of the plant. I left it on for 3 days before rinsing the leaves with a 1 gallon mister. The guy recommended rinsing after it dries, but I wanted residual effect. After the fact, I"d probably rinse them within 12 hours of using the azatrol if done again.

I'm thinking of taking a mother out of the group b/c i need one, but worried about potentially starting the infestation over again. I hate to lose my prized swt #3 and F-13, what should i do lol, they are 2 weeks into bloom, not a whole lot of foliage to clone from right now either.

Maybe I can cut them back, thereby removing any eggs, treat the medium (hydroton), place back under 24hour light and get some clean cuts? Idears? or should I say sayonara to my top smoke? (I have a 20 new seed starts from various breeders, but we all know it takes that many to find just one or 2 keepers.) can't wait that long either-I got peeps depending on me, lol.
