Hey all, I'm about a week or 10 days from harvest of my lone outdoor plant. I noticed a red spider mite problem back in the heat of summer (July) but it pretty much went away after a week or two. I think the predator insects pretty much destroyed them and they never really got a foot hold! I haven't seen any other mites since then. I've seen occasional mite damaged leave but they were so few I didn't worry about it.
Last night when checking my plant I noticed quite a few mite-damaged leaves. See attached pic. However, I couldn't see any active mites anywhere on the plant. No webs or anything like that. I think I did see a few eggs on the underside of one damaged leaf. Temps right now are high 70s during the day and high 40s at night. Hopefully any mites will die off in the cold weather! Humidity also ranges from 15%-70% throughout the day.
Do you think these mites will affect the buds at all? Do mites even mess around with the buds? Since I didn't even see any mites I assume it's not going to be an issue. And I doubt they can get a foothold with the weather being what it is.
What do you think?
Also I think the leaf damage was caused by a different species than the red spider mite. Those things seem pretty harmless outdoors. They were huge and easy to see and they just seemed to run back and forth on a leaf all day seemingly not causing much damage. I assume the mites that caused this damage are much smaller considering I couldn't even find one!
