Do you have evidence of this study being gov't backed?

And even if it were, why would the gov't want to tell you that the env. toxins (which they generally don't try to protect us from) are to blame?

Doesn't make too much sense to me.

If anything the gov't would want to prevent this info from coming out.

I'm skeptical. Not least because the BBC tend to print anything that will get hits these days, regardless of the accuracy and without the slightest bit of fact checking.

Also, considering the general message of the governments these days is to not smoke, cut down on drinking and not do drugs, a story like this seems like a way of scaring people to comply. I know, it's a conspiracy theory, but it's feasible and I really don't trust scientific reports when so many conflicting reports hit the news in any given week.

I'm not ruling it out. I'm just saying that I guarantee a report will be out in the next month which says drinking alcohol actually makes your sperm DNA super sturdy and possibly give them super powers.

Time will tell, I suppose. =)

Seriously though, it's an interesting concept: that environmental toxins can damage the way your sperm is made, or damage it after it's made - and then those damages are part of the foundation for creating a new being. That is something that is quite scary, whether it is toxins in your drinking water, or smoking.

I seriously doubt the gov't would be pleased to tell the world that env. toxins are doing something like this. They want the least hassle from environmental organizations as possible, for sure!

RED, i personally prefer my scientists to stay well grounded and do their research diligently.

however its okay to journey into the abiss every once in awhile....

LOL....it's all good,ya know what I say.

You will always run into bias people, overly-judgmental people,
and those that allow emotion to get in the way of
rational discussion or thought. Don't let it get you down.

Oh yes, and pesticides seem to work this way as well.

Maybe the Scientist should take another Journey? Just to be sure about the findings.

Disclaimer: I'm not a scientist and I'm also not a journie(alist), but that study has nothing to do with marijuana at all.

So a few scientists decided to poison some rats with a hormone-disrupting fungicide chemical called vinclozolin, and they found out that it fucked up genes in their sperm ? So ? Is that surprising ?

If I was a young man I would not drink very heavily and not smoke two packets of cigarettes a day while I was trying to conceive a child
Professor Cynthia Daniels

And so ? If I was a fucking scientist, I wouldn't need to poison a bunch of freaking rats in order to reach the conclusion that smoking two packs of cigarettes a day and drinking heavily is bad for you. Anybody who is not retarded knows that.

Like I said, this study has zero to do with marijuana. I think that the main thing that the study proves is don't poison yourself with the fungicide chemical called vinclozolin. Not that I had thought about doing that before I ever wasted my time in clicking on this thread.
