Species identification request

Can anyone identify my dreadlocked friend here? I have a feeling its a corsican succulent, but I don't know any more than that. I just watered him for the first time in about 6 months, and he's loving it.

Aporocactus flagelliformis or flagriformis
synonym:
Disocactus flagelliformis or flagriformis

If the flower is red then it flagelliformis; if the flower is orange then it flagriformis. I have both of them. In a hanging basket they wil get to 15' long and live as long as 30+ years if healthy.

Very nice response Pyrex. This is exactly why I love these forums and the people in them. There is a wealth of knowledge in these forums that I am very sure far surpasses the average cluster-fuck of people. I love this place, and will be here till I die.

P.S. This is my second one. My first grew about 2.5 feet out of its pot, then was left outside by my mother who is strangely an excellent gardener (even if I have found myself lecturing to her on the joys of hydroponics before) and died. this one is off of the same plant as the old one, and is the same one my granny has had in her collection for many many years, god bless her.

The flowers are red so its a flagelliformis. Did have a nice foto, but Hdd crashed and lost it.

Mullet, I believe that this is an alien plant. To find out for sure, prick your finger and squeeze a few drops of blood on the plant. If a large head arises from the plant and demands more blood, run like hell!

LOL too funny both of you. it stabbed me a hundred times in the finger when I touched it, so i'll just stick to watering for now. Its obviously not a plant which likes to be handled!
