Speaker Box Micro Grow

Not sure whether to place this in growroom design or micro grow but figured it had more to do with the design rather than the actual grow so Ill place it here. Anyways hello everyone. Some of you may know me but this will be my third indoor grow. Ive had some set backs but would like to finally get a grow going that would be alittle more efficent then the last. Unfortunatly I cant go outdoors yet so Im resorting to an indoor micro speaker box grow. As I always say I rather have some free bud that kicks ass then have a lot of shit I had to pay for. Anyways heres my design and I apologize in advance for the mediocre paintshop skills but I was in a hurry. Basically my speaker box is 26" high, 13" wide and 12" long. My plan is to use 2 blue spectrum 42 watt cfls along with 2 red spectrum 42 watt cfls along with scrog. The walls inside the cab are currently flat white. The fans you see are computer fans. Now I do have a few question that may adjust this cab alittle and hopefully bring it to its full potential. First is it better to just have all blue spectrum cfl for veg then go to all red or does a combination work best. Also will this grow cab work and what do you think it can yield. Depending on these I might throw in a few more cfls as long as heat isnt an issue. Also as far as strain I was considering northern lights cause of its low odor and supposivly doing well indoor. Could anyone tell me based on the strain what the yield would be?

Also I left one thing out. I plan on STARTING 4 plants in plastic cups then when theyre big enough choosing the best two and moving those up to bigger pots then finally choosing the healthiest female, assuming there's two or any, and flowering her alone in the cab.

Bump. Could please someone tell me whether this would be efficent or not. Also for willyhaze Im still alittle new to the growing aspects of things but you might want to check out the microgrow section for design help. Thats what inspired me. Good luck and happy growing.

ROBO ... people may have not seen the thread but my guess is too many variables to really give an answer to all of your questions.

I'll give it a go though .... imho I think you'll get what you get ... try it and tell us how it goes...like the medium you choose to grow in and nutrients and pheno of the northern lights will all be a factor really...too broad to really say what your expected harvest could be. check out the other speaker cabinet growers though...might give ya an idea. as for the lights changing...meh...it's all good either way really...to each their own...that's the beauty of growing a weed....KISS....if I read your posts right you have already built this cab for the most part....so....plant and show us it worked for ya.

Good luck ...I hope to see the progress

Peace

Thanks for the response. All I really wanted to know was if the wattage, airflow ect would be effective for growing weed. I have started some bagseed in there and will see how it does through a few weeks of veg before I plant in the northern lights. thx for the help mate.

ahhh well see ... I guess I missed that detail...and others know the exact math for passive intake and active exaust..including carbon scrubbers and bla bla bla ...but you haven't stated what kind if fan you are using...what size the holes are and that sort of thing.....but like I say .... meh ....it's all good ... I think the math is something like...half the intake to exhaust will give you proper negative pressure and and force the air to suck in the holes and push out the exhaust. You aren't using a carbon scrubber I am assuming so it's really just about moving heat out of the cab....if it gets too hot....cut another hole and bump up the fan. The lights seem like a good amount of energy in there. You could always add a few floro tubes from a pet store or something like that at a later date ... like mount them flush on the sides near the top...and this could also add a bit of colour spectrum and give some vertical lighting to help keep the stretch down.....make any sense?....i'm starting to get kinda buzzed here...tee hee
