space/setup questions

okay im gonna be using a 1000 watter hps with eye hortilux bulb for flower. gonna flower in one of those 2007 hydro huts, its dimensions are 4.5ft by 4.5ft x 7ft. is this space too small for a 1000 watter? better suited for a 6? i want the maxium yield i can possibly get. it will def be scrogged. im a soil grower btw, FFOF all the way.

I havent used a 1000 watter yet my self. your going to have 20.25sq feet so that would be 49.38 watts per sq foot, so your good for your space size and your lighting.

I've read some poeples posts saying that you should have something like 100watts per sq foot.

a few things that you could do that will help to increase your yield, add some mylar to the walls, use an air cooled hood so you can get it closer to the top of your plants, get a light mover which allows you to get the light a little closer to the palnts and increase the amount of space that gets light. I know you say your growing with soil, but if you at some point switch to hydro you can get huge crops once you get everything dialed in.

I'm sure others can give input on other ways to max out your yield.

I have a 2007 Hydro Hut and a 1,000 watt HPS/MH switchable ballast and hood. I have a 8 inch hood with 2 six inch reducers. 6 inch hydrofarm duct tubing and a 6 inch carbon filter and 6 inch fan that is a vortex rated at 449 CFM. Put the scrubber and fan inside the hut venting through the hood (taking the heat away) and vent out to the attic. It will create negative pressure and the hut will suck in a bit. I'm using a 3x3 ebb and flow table with a 40 gallon reservoir. If temps are a problem take off the vent from your house A/C and cut a peice of wood board the same dimensions, cut a 6 inch hole in that and screw it back where the AC register was and pipe the cool air from the house AC into the hut. That's the only way to keep the temps below 80.

Cheers mate

It works great, follow what I got

I would go with a 1K and follow the above advice exactly, your space definately is not too small for a 1K.I have 3 in an 8 by 8.
