SP3000 driver change?

I picked up an SP3000 marketed as Samsung LEDs and Meanwell driver from a reputable online dealer and got this. Different driver from my other sp3000 that I bought from the same dealer. Sup with this?

According to MarsHydro it’s a Moso driver. Anyone familiar with these? Still using the Samsung chip set though.
Why are they marketing stuff as Meanwell drivers and sending out Moso?

Hi FJ2000, we have upgraded the driver to our own brand. Maybe that dealer didn't have a chance to change the advertisement information.
But no worry about the quality. The driver supplier who we cooperated with also produce meanwell driver. And the new customized driver has lower defective rate than meanwell. We just wanted to keep the brand uniformity.

I swapped out a Mars OEM driver for a Meanwell on a TSW2000, no difference in light output FWIW

It's likely the same Meanwell but with a mars logo. It's common for vendors to put their logos on identical products.

I did a chat with a rep from MH and that person told me no more Meanwell on the sp3000, it’s a Moso. I just hate buying stuff online expecting to get what’s on the spec sheet and getting a different product and having the company say “Oh! we changed that! This one’s better!”
I don’t know shit about drivers and rely on a brand’s name. I know Meanwell has a good track record and I own lights with Meanwell drivers and they’ve work great, so I just want to keep rolling with them.
Now I’ve got a light in a multi-light tent that I don’t have any experience with. It’s PROBABLY fine but I guess we’ll find out. 🤷🏻‍♂️

“Mars Hydro” driver is manufactured by LG LED Solutions. Mean Well is from Taiwan so it's not rebranded Mean Well

it's the specs that matter. All companies will choose who can make the item for the least $$. They all use the same or similar spec components. IMO it's not a big deal. Comparing the specs is what matters most.

What bothers me is that I thought I bought a light that has been extensively tested and that I have personal experience with only to receive something different. Then, I’m told by one rep in a chat it’s NOT a Meanwell but Moso, another rep that it’s a Meanwell with a MarsHydro sticker on it, all while having an LG Driver (based on the sticker) in front of my face. I own a SP3000 with the Meanwell driver and it’s not the same model driver with a MarsHydro sticker.
If they had their story straight I’d just write it off and go smoke a bowl..but nope! It’s not about the hardware now, it’s about trusting a company.
Maybe I’m a dick and I’m just blowing the whole situation out of proportion.
Either way I’m done ranting. Fuck them…PEACE.

LOL, The only thing that matters is the light performs as it should. I could care less which driver is used as long as it performs the same. Most company's sales reps have no clue what gets changed as it has no impact on the performance.

I don't think it's a sidegrade. The expensive lights use it (MW) for a reason

Here are the main features of our new driver:

1. High power conversion efficiency, the maximum can reach 95%.
2. The components are made of good materials, the calorific value is lower, and the power supply shell is lower than 60 degrees Celsius.
3. Adopt international brand new product scheme, longer service life.
4. The safety is stronger and more reliable, and it has passed the corresponding safety certification. ETL and CE... and other certifications.
5. It is specially customized for our lights, which is more suitable, such as customizing the length of the wire according to the planting frame, which is convenient for customers to install.

We will never detract from the quality especially in the fierce competition. That will destroy our brand. So no worry about the quality. Like hammerhead said, the performance is better than a brand name. I believe you will like the new driver SP3000 as well.

Moso do look quite big. Which happened quite quickly. The address is the posh side of town, and the manufacturing facility looks good. They are on the stock exchange. So it's can't all be lies.

95% efficiency doesn't seem great as such, but the HLG-320 manages 94%. Which falls outside the window, by modern standards.

I wouldn't be happy about buying top brand and receiving something unknown. I imagine peoples attitudes would shift if they had the wrong car or phone delivered. With a story about the stickers being different. Sat beside one you already have, that's literally not the same thing.

@Mars Hydro Led I think some recognition of the problem, and the offer of a good will gesture is in order. Isn't there some fluffy plant pots and boot warming mats littering your supply chain?

It's actually lot simpler than that: Shenzhen LG-LED Solutions Technology Limited is Mars-Hydro

Moso don't have a driver that looks like that on their website. Their 320w drivers are 92-93% efficient.

The sticker says 90c not under 60c

Looks like no straight answer from a mars rep yet.
