Greetings Friends,
I've been preparing to relocate to CA for the past few months. My spouse is in LA caring for our son and her elderly mother. I've been an arborist for nearly two decades and the trees in So Cal are miniature compared to what we have here in the south. So, I'm considering Santa Cruz for two reasons; the first being no plant limit, possess three pounds of dried bud, and 100 sq ft of canopy space to grow in. The second reason is the size and number of trees in comparison, and I might already have a job waiting for me there.
Unfortunately, I have bigger dilemma. I've been working on a mobile, secure, and stealth grow module that's designed to use natural and supplemental lighting in conjunction with a unique low cost cooling/exhaust system. I'm extremely focused on concepts that lower the amount of money that must be given to power companies, and the use of simple technologies. My sixth sense tingles, and tells me So Cal is the place where my design is needed most. Empirical observation tells me there's many city and county govs that wish to take away a patients right to grow all together. I believe those of us that wish to stay within, or grow outside the states minimum threshold should use stealth, and think of ways to lower energy expenses.
I fore-see more problems in the future. If one steps back and looks at world events, and the state of our economy, it's clear that there is a force working against us. I once considered gold mining; dredging for gold in California's rivers and tributaries is now a distant memory. The moratorium signed by the Terminator in 09 makes it illegal to dredge in Cali's active waterways. Entire towns that relied on the annual revenues brought in by the miners have gone under.
I understand a lot of OG's are frustrated with the green rush, and the problems of dealing with so much competition. Well, consider living in a time when a new Ferrari is only worth a plate of food. This is the reality I wake up to every day. Ignorance is bliss, until the snare closes up tight on your ass, and it's too late. I guess the advice I'm asking for is this; should I go where there are lots of trees and the grow/possession limits are high, or should I go to LA and focus on finding a financier for my stealth grow modules? I understand there are about 350K millionaires in LA and Orange counties. My greatest wish is to quickly get my product into the hands of those that need it. Is it even possible to find an honest investor? Should I try working in Santa Cruz and going solo with my designs? Any helpful advice will be greatly appreciated. I hope I didn't offend anyone, my adderall kicks in during early am hrs.
