At green hornet seeds at hemcy sells a vintage vietnamese that was only inbred once since 1979, a thai, and a sri lankan. The sri lankan may make an interesting cross with the haze you're growing. The BOEL frequently would take surfing trips to Sri Lanka and they stumbled on a small cannabis producing village that a few people who claim to be insiders of the group say that it was the finest herb they ever cam across and imported some. This makes me think that the Sri Lankan could be a large contributor to the haze
Thai is the most common, and there are many great crosses with thai plants around. it's rather difficult to find pure se asian strains as they're not the best for indoor growing, to say the least, so seedmakers usually hybridize them to make them more suitable for growers. h3ad seeds' casey jones is a nice one that's very much thai but definitely manageable. zamal made a nice find with green hornet seeds, they have a nice lookin "Thai 82", a seemingly pure thai stick strain. well good luck with your hunt.
hiya zamalito, i'm looking for a pure vietnamese myself, green hornet's site doesn't list the viet though (hemcy either). do you know if they have a stash of the viet still or another vendor that might have that stock in from your searchings? thanks, an as always lookin forward to your workings as well. puuunaaaa
Jingles- the only major thing with the SA strains is they all hermie like crazy.... it will take allot of work and numbers to be able to find some true male/females. So if you decide to grow them with a bunch of other stuff expect some flying pollen....lol.... that being said probably the strongest sativas on earth if you find the right one.... Black Vietnamese is a crazy smoke that can actally play mind games on you... its almost like a whole completely different animal
Jingles, I did a full on tour through nam and cambodia last xmas and new year and tested plenty along the way.i did find some beans in central cambodia that were very worthy of keeping. a very nice sativa that has a spicy peppery smell with strong undertones of old school hash. from memory the flowers had a very high calyx/leaf ratio and were very dark green almost black in color, not sure if this is from the way they cure it or if it is a 'black strain' as i haven't had a chance to test run these baby's yet.i was going to do a late season test run with them when i came home but had no luck with germinating them, i will give them another go this sept/oct
hi jingles,
I've never actually tried any Asian strains yet although theyre on my wishlist, so I think it'd be in your best interests if I didn't say anything.
I started some pure Cambodian plants a few weeks ago, and I was in Thailand recently. Vietnam is next on the list. I'll see if I can snag some good strains while I'm out there. I'm actually considering creating my own haze
Jingles:
It can be a daunting task to decide on what to grow to be sure.I've heard people mention that Cambodian strains can be nice.I wish I had the room and time for the strain that Zamalito mentioned. You might want to consider that one as it could very well be a gem.
