Hi all ... i am looking for a source on the net to purchace the miticide AVID ... we have searched & searched (including this site) with not much luck

some of the internet sites that come up are very suspect & i need a legitimate tried & true source ...

What pest do you have; there are other sources besides avid..... Or are you using it as a deterrent?

Avid's a last-ditch miticide.
I can't in good conscience even recommend using it until you have REALLY exhausted your other options.
You are supposed to buy it in person and I believe register that you have it- I'm not sure what authority tracks that, or if you can even obtain it legally in most places without a pesticide applicator's license- this is a question for someone more familiar with industrial pesticides than I am.
But there's a reason it isn't sold at garden centers... PLEASE try the classic remedies first.
Neem, pyrethrin bombs, wind, physical removal, cold temps, predators, etc etc etc.

thx for the prompt replies kind gentlemen ... my situation is thus ... we are 'bout ready to start an indoor grow ... i have a very, very special clone vegging that i wish to run in the same room as my "from seed" crop ... the clone has some mites left over from the past outdoor season ... i have used "sevin" with partial success, but the mites remain in smaller populations ...just waiting to explode again .... we applied another application of sevin @ a 5 day interval just today... i do not want to toss this clone, but can't stand the thought of propagating mites ... if i can not EXTERMINATE then COMPLETELY, i will have no choice other then tossing this valuable plant ... i simply can not and will not take the chance of infecting a new indoor grow cycle ... so this is why i want AVID ...

any suggestions? will take advice

much peace

Give that thread a read; has lots of info about how to rid of mites.
Best thread on Mites I have ever seen.

There are other alternatives and safer products; first you can get no pest strips; you can also get benifical insects like lady bugs; neem, neem 2, homemade tobacco juice; safer insecicidal soap.... many prodcuts;

Here is a link to a good company;l I have ordered from them many many times over.
