Sour OG (SOS) Los Angeles Smoke Report

I wanted to get a chance to sample this strain fully before posting this.
First off I want to make sure everyone understands that I am a pot snob. I will criticize stuff the endth degree since I grow and smoke a bit. It's hard to please me with different strains, but I can give a fair review.

This stuff came out looking, smelling, and tasting wonderful. The effect is very good, and maybe gets a 6.5 - 7.0 out of 10 on the stoniness scale. That's compared to something like Bubba Kush, as a 10.

As you can see in the pics, it looks great. It smells very nice. Smells "fruity" and uplifting. Anyone growing it out will be pleased with it as it will be one of the best in the garden, for many.....but not for me.

I liked it, but I will not grow it again. I cannot sense the "Sour" in it at all, in contrast, it's rather sweet, and I can't imagine there's any "Sour" anywhere to be found.
The OG .....MIGHT be there, but it's masked mostly by whatever it's crossed with, which might as well be "Juicy Fruit" or something mediocre. I think the finished flower structure reveals a hint of OG, but not the SUPER crytalization of OG or the Smell of the lemon or kushiness.....and speaking of kushiness....there is almost none to be found in this...that I can recognize.
The strain, whatever it is....is AWESOME for a pot strain and anyone who get's the cut will be happy with it, but just don't expect to get the Sour OG your hoping for in this one, at least.....

Fortunately, I have (2) more different Sour OG cuts I obtained from CALM and they come from Oregnkid, I believe, They are supposed to be the real deal. Only problem is they are both different...one was given to me in beginning stages of flowering, so it may be the same but i have to revert it back before I can take cuts and grow them out. But 2 new possibilities for Sour OG exist here in the near future, and in the meantime, grab these cuts while you can, as they will be phased out in the near future. Thye ARE worthy of growing, and contain no known potential problems. My friends love it. I am more picky, and I have to make sure I have room to grow out lots of new strains I just got seeds for.

that's unfortunate!

any cut from anyone (apart from the guy who germinated the seeds, cloned and flowered the plant, tested the bud and then says it's worthwhile as he offers you the cutting) is a gamble....so why bother with maybes?

buy seeds, nurture them, veg for 8+ weeks, clone then flower them...smoke test then select the best

I used to lust over the latest hybrid...most were not as good as most of the stuff I was already growing

my advice is don't chase any clone or strain...be content with what you have and what you create..this is where the greater satisfaction is...

..I've found out that a greater percentage of the quality of the high is due to the quality of the farmer, alot more than is given credit for....a good ganja farmer growing something average like a Nirvana strain would produce a bud with a better high than some new grower with covetous tendancies growing the lastest greatest must have strain of the month.....

i've tried this herb before, its good stuff, you can barely taste the og in it but some nugs taste more og. The high has a lil og in it but the high for me was predominately a roaring sativa high just like the sour diesel high but it was longer lasting yet not as long lasting as regular og kush. The smell was close to og but sweeter and less crystals and the nugs looked more indica than og structure. Some nugs taste more chronic than kushiness yet some taste more kush. None the less really great herb and very different up positive stimulating high that lasts for a good while. A high that is different than the
usual stoney that is widely available on the market.

the problem is that there is a sour D x O.G cross which also goes by sour diesal Kush and maybe sometimes goes by Sour O.G as well, the "real" Sour Kush is a NYCD x O.G cross made 4-5 years a go by Orgnkid

Hey medikush,

i've grown and smoked the sour diesel x og kush, and it is a winner. it produces more than any other kush I've ever grown (it's still below average tho), tastes amazing and has an awesome high. i've never trusted orgnkid but if the real deal sour diesel x og kush is his work, then my respects to him.

if you really can't find it... i may have to pass it onto you. it really is a gem.

I am growing out the SD X OG cut as well, Just one blunt, and at 5 weeks it looks like it will compare with the Master Kush cuts I have, as far as yield is concerned. I smoked the flowers from grower who supplied this cut, and the description is nothing like Medikush's response. The high is intense, and the OG qualities in the taste are there.

Just one blunt-

Orgnkid did not make the sour diesal kush, he made the "Sour Kush" which is Soma's NYCD crossed with O.G Kush. IMO the Sour Kush is much better than any buds of Sour Diesal Kush that I've seen...

Timely report for me bro. Just received a SD x OG cut. Don't know which version but don't believe it's Orgnkid's version. Glad to hear so many different opinions on the strain.

BTW Orgnkids Sour Kush name is certainly misleading as Soma's NycD has no sour in it at all. Not to say it isn't good.

Thanks for the report.

Smokey...

May I ask where you got the cut from? I think you responded in my Flower thread (Sour OG Kush @ 50 days). Mine is at 58 days now and is nearing completion. I'd say it will probably go another 10 days. I'm going to update with a few more pics later today or tomorrow... so keep an eye out.

Mine was listed as Sour Diesel x OG Kush (Sour OG). There were also cuts available listed as NYCD X OG Kush.
