Sour 60 grow, organic, vegan, 2kw

This is the start of my Sour60 grow. It will be organic and vegan using a custom soil mix, and aerated compost teas.

It is 100% medically legal and compliant. So the numbers in this thread are the way they are to keep in line with what I am allowed to do for myself and my patients.

I want to thank MDanzig for creation, and for compassion. He is a good person, doing good things.

I will be starting 33 Sour60's under a T5 for the first few days, and will then move into 'flower' room under a total of 2kw. Due to space issues, I may have to do 5 under a 400HPS, and the rest in another room under a 1000w and 600w hps.

After sexing and tossing the males, I will then pop more seeds to get me back up near the 24 count. In 32 days I will start another 24, a mix of MDanzig's Blue Streak, and Masterlow.

I will keep a detailed journal, both for myself and for others who may be interested in the strain, or other details of the grow. I have seen very few journals online of people doing auto's under a lot of light, with ample container size, and I want to see what happens. If anyone has any posts or experience with this strain that they would like to share,
feel free, as while this is a journal, it's also a forum, and I am always open to people sharing ideas, critique, or related thoughts.

This journal will also have a 'sub' journal going, as I am going to be doing 1/2 of the plants in a custom soil mix, using only seed meals in compost tea for 'ferts', and in the other 1/2 I will be doing a custom soil mix using the General Organics line of vegan nutrients in compost teas.

I'll do this journal from seed to consumption, and will also provide details on how this strain(s) affect specific medical conditions that range from migraines to severe chronic bone and nerve pain.

Ok, let's get going...

First, my soil mix.

Pretty simple:

I mix my soil in smaller 5 gallon batches, as this makes me feel that I have all ingredients mixed correctly.

60% Sun Gro "Sunshine Growers Natural and Organic"
20% Wiggle worm earth worm castings
20% perlite

1Tbs/gallon Greensand
1Tbs/gallon Pulverized Dolomite lime
1Tsp Mycorrhizal Fungi
2cups CC's Mineral Mix

I then fill my containers and water with a compost tea with EWC and Kelp only.

Soil 'works' for two weeks before planting.

CC's Mineral Mix (2 cups per 5 gallons of soil mix)

I mix equal parts

Azomite
Soft Rock Phosphate
Glacial Rock Dust

For the pots that I will be using only my seed meal mix, I will use the following. The pots that will be run with the General Organics will NOT have seed meal mix.

CC's Seed meal Mix
(1.5 cups to 5 gallons of soil)
( 1/4 cup per 5 gallons of compost tea+ 1/4 cup kelp meal every 3rd watering ,or, once a week)

Equal parts ( In this case I use a container that is exactly 6 cups)

Alfalfa meal
Cottonseed meal
Linseed meal
Canola meal
Soybean meal

To those I add

2 cups kelp meal
1 cup neem seed meal

------

I have mixed these, and have had them 'working' in 3 gallon 'Root Pots' for 2 +weeks. I keep them moist with a EWC and kelp compost tea.

I use root pots for their air pruning capability, and because they are made from 100% recycled material, and are 100% biodegradable.

I am still debating on whether to start the seeds in cups and up pot around day 15, or just plant into final container from seed. I have done both, with success..

Seeds are started paper towel method with water/kelp mixture.

Foods

Every watering I give my plants my 'basic tea' which is:
5 gallons RO water
1 heaping cup of fungal enhanced EWC
1/2 TBS humic acid

(To make this I simply moisten a heaping cup of EWC and add 2-3 tbs powdered baby oatmeal. I then put on heating pad on low for about 24 hrs in a tupperware container with loose fitting lid, then add to tea. I then start a new batch, so I always have some ready to go for my teas. By the time they go into tea, they are covered in fungal webbing.)

Once a week, or every 3rd water I give foods.

For first set of 12, I will give a weekly seed meal mix tea, and that will be it for entire grow. All other waterings will be RO water bubbled for at least 12hrs.

5 gallons RO
1 cup EWC
1/4 cup seed meal mix
1/4 cup kelp meal
1/2 Tbsp humic acid

For second set of 12, I will be feeding General Organics Vegan foods. I will follow the recipe from their site 'loosely' and will update that as I go, as I will need to adjust for shorter lifespan, etc.. I will feed them every other watering, or less if plants dictate.

For first 15 days, if i feed at all, they will get BioRoot 1-1-1

BioRoot: Ingredients: Alfalfa meal, brewers yeast, potassium sulphate, rock phosphate, sea kelp and soybean meal.

I will mainly be using their grow/bloom which have similar ingredients in different concentrations.

Biothrive Grow 4-3-3
Ingredients: Alfalfa meal, cane sugar, copper sulphate, glacial rock powder, iron sulphate, kieserite, manganese sulphate, molasses, plant extracts, potassium sulphate, rock phosphate, sodium borate, sodium molybdenate, soybean meal and zinc phosphate.

Contains Non-Plant Food Ingredients:
2% seaweed derived from Ascophyllum nodosum and Laminaria digitata and 0.2% humic acids derived from leonardite.

Biothrive Bloom 2-4-4

Ingredients: Alfalfa meal, cane sugar, copper sulphate, glacial rock powder, iron sulphate, kieserite, manganese sulphate, molasses, plant extracts, potassium sulphate, rock phosphate, sodium borate, sodium molybdenate, soybean meal and zinc phosphate.

Contains Non-Plant Food Ingredients:
2% seaweed derived from Ascophyllum nodosum and Laminaria digitata and 0.2% humic acids derived from leonardite.

5 gallons RO
1 cup EWC
1 Tbsp/gallon of Grow/Bloom
1 Tsp/gallon of extras

Any additions, subtractions, or mistakes will be noted in journal.

I think (hope) that's everything..enough babble, let's smoke.

Darg- thanks!

Yes, the Nutes from GO are vegan, and so is my seed meal mix.

I'm not vegan myself, I'm a vegetarian, so I'm not 100% on what vegans consider OK. I can't see how using earth worm poop could in any way be not OK, as they MUST eat veggies and fruits grown in compost that has bird, fish, and mammal feces all the time...

The worms are not hurt, or killed to make the castings, and if anything are given a life of supreme luxury, eating primo foods to produce a better(more diverse) product..

If I was a vegan, I wouldn't have an issue with it..but..:dunno:

You will have some top shelf smoke with that soilmix. Can't wait to see some healthy ladies.

Good luck mate.
