Damn why didn't (my friend) think of this before !
When working with regular non feminized seeds it sure sucks spending 2-3 months taking care of aprox half your crop during the first half of the season, waisting alot of space, time, resources, etc, etc, just to find out half or more of the plants are generally useless males.
So why not start alittle earlier, grow out the beans inside while its too cold outside, veg them for alittle bit THEN flip them 12/12 into flower just long enough till they show sex !! ??
Once sex is shown, increase light cycle again so they go back into vegging, they may be some shock but not to bad ?
Maybe even isolate the best looking males for polen / precise seed production mid season and just elimanite the males before even going outside ?
This would also greatly lessen alot of negative factors like accidentally missing a male mid season causing a entire seeded crop, lot more productive use of space at location, not transporting unsexed males to location, waisting alot of time inspecting sex mid season, pulling and disposing big males, etc.
Seems like it should be standard procedure, stunned my friend didn't think if this before.
