Somethings about OZONE (FQAs)

Hi IC people:
There are some FQAs about the ozone and ozone generation methods I want to share with together.
first, please refer to this website: http://www.epa.gov/iaq/pubs/ozonegen.html
It is very helpful.
There are lots Ozone info, meanwhile, I attach my advices:
1) Ozone can erase odor but not completely.
2) If you want to use Ozone generator, Pure Ceramic Tube type is preferred. The reasons are:
More efficient than other types (one tube's ozone production can be up to 30g/h) . More live time up to 10 years no fault op time. And less power used.
3) Manufacturers' test results were under conditions:
Normally, almost all ozone production results can't be produced in anyone's house.
Because, there are several pre-conditions for the production test:
a) Temp should be at 32.00F(or0.00C).
b) 99% Oxygen support
c) 10~20% humidity.
So, under normal condition, there is 1/3 ozone production can be reached.
Remind: Oxygen occupied 1/3 of our air atmosphere.
So, next time please don't complain your ozone generator is less efficient. Please use some pure oxygen first, manufacturers will say it.
4) Based on 3), Using outside air as ozone generator's air source as possible.
Because growroom or house's oxygen was less than outside (there are other such as CO2, Resin etc).
to make your ozone more efficient (before you can get pure oxygen), a clean outside air is a better solution.
BTW, some UV bulbs ozone generators are not ceramic tube.
For ceramic tube, they will generate heat instead of UV lights as their by-product.

Cheers!

Man 20% humidity would tragically slow down vegging growth all the way through the first few weeks of 12/12,that would be mucho bad for the girls just thought I'd let you know that.In veg 60-70%RH is optimum with 50% being OK,in flower 40% is optimum and can be dropped to 30% the last couple weeks if preferred. Also during the "stretch" part of flowering, the first few weeks, a 50-60% RH is good providing you dont have plants at different stages, you dont want a plant about to finish experiencing 50-60% RH.EDIT Sorry man didnt mean to turn this into a RH thread lol

It is the ozone manufacturers' test env for their ozone gen baby. Not your cab's env. :)
I want to say that all ozone manufacturers' production number should be discount: times by 1/3.
e.g. some one announce their prodcut can give 2000mg/h ozone. But actually, it just can reach 600mg/h only under normal atmosphere condition.

I see, you'd probably only use it in the flowerroom anyways where you want a low RH to begin with.Rez turmed me and many others on to vaportek products.I flower large stanky strains and my vaportronic and vaportek are just incredible IMO,weather permitting my front door is normally wide open.

Here's my take on Ozone use.....

Recent independent studies show that, unlike ozone in the upper atmosphere, which helps shield us from harmful ultraviolet rays, ozone near ground level is an irritant that can aggravate asthma and decrease lung function. Ozone in concentrations of greater than 80ppb for 8 hours can cause coughing, wheezing, chest pain, and deaden your sense of smell. Additionally, it raises sensitivity to pollen, mold, and other allergy triggers, and may cause permanent lung damage. Ozone also reacts with the terpenes in lemon and pine scented cleaning products and air fresheners, creating formaldehyde, a known carcinogen.

The above info is from Consumers Union, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, and Yale University’s school of Environmental Studies.

So am I saying that ozone should not be used? No, what I’m saying is, that if you choose to use it, be very conscious of the amount you are generating, your period of exposure, and where else in your home it may be migrating to.

Its the timing thing too,you have to have it on a timer and scew around getting it right,if your timer fails when the contacts are closed you could be in for real problems.Even though my dog doesnt go in the flowerroom I just dont want it in the house.Of course many people know exactly how to use it properly and are probably rightfully laughing at me lol.Bottom line, use what works

Industrial Air pollution methods are: Active Carbon Srubber, Water washing, and ozone etc. vaportek are very good but expensive. How about a 3KW or above GR stink erase? There should be some less expesive methods to remove the smell. Ozone is a less cost solution.

Stank erase?Never heard of it.Yes you will have to pay for cartridges and "tabs" but so far its worth it.

I scored my Air Lazer X2 from an acquainted grower, for $75.... he used it for one run back in 2003-4....... clean it every 6 months and it works great, also use carbon.... odor=not an issue for me......

ozone kicks ass. best money i ever spent. i have a 10" UV tube and my entire neighborhood smells fresh now (no hint of ozone itself). Oddly, none of my neighbors have thanked me yet, hehe. if you grow and there is a smell, get ozone. I use carbon too, but it's the ozone that made the difference for my setup.
