Someone suggest a good PH meter please

I have had 2 types of Hanna PH meters, the first one was the standard 1 adjustment dial. It lasted about 4 months, cleaning fluis soaked in coton in cap for storage and calibrated every week like they suggest. Couldn't adjust it low enough after 4 months, was about 2.5 PH higher than calibration fluid. I bought the Hanna dual adjustment ( one for 4 clai fluid, and 1 for 7 cali fluid) followed same regiment os storage and calibration technics. It lasted 1 month. And its it like 4 PH higher thn cali fluids. I wanr to get a good replacement, can anyone suggest a good one that has been tried and trued?

Thanks in advance

I have the same one as Sleepy... it's a nice unit, had it for almost a year. Very durable and dependable - it's always on point, and I check for calibration once a month.

Before that I had a Hanna that got submerged to deep and shorted out. Lesson learned is you have to have a waterproof unit. Otherwise you can fry the motherboard if you go too deep.

Thanks for posting the question, its one I've been wondering about.

I have seen some recommend the nutradip trimeter. The thing has large easy to read displays for all 3 readings.(ph, tds, and temp I think) Bigtoke uses it.

That link sleep listed has lots of great items.
There is a matching conductivity tester for around $55.
So for about $100 you could have it covered, the nutradip runs around $225.

If your growing soil, the soil test kits are showing up on shelves. Got one for $11, 4 different testers, kinda like checking a swimming pool. Get a jug of distilled water to go with it.
Peace, 2buds
Killing them one day at a time. Hopefully the test kit is sending me in the right direction!

I think I'm going with the model sleepy's got, hell it looks like a good unit and if I get good reading consistantly, I'm set. Thanks Sleepy Your the man.

I have the Hanna combo meter and I guess I've been lucky... It's been great for over a year now. I calibrate it every 6 to 8 weeks and it's only off by maybe .2 on ph and 50-75ppm. Hope it stays like that :bat:

they do make a ph truncheon, but it only does whole numbers on the ph scale if i remeber right....wouldn't be too accurate.
