Some I.C.E in a rubbadubtub

Figured I should start my own journal to observe how my project has been progressing. I started off with 5 seeds of Nirvana's I.C.E strain and hoping I end up with at least 2 females. This project has been somewhat eventful due to :joint: moments.

Equipment stats:
- 8x23watt CFLs
- LC's mix #1
- Didn't let enough soil cook so I'm just feeding with guano tea
- 3gal grow bags
- Homemade SCROG

The seeds were germinated on 4/20/09 (didn't plan on that, I swear!) and were placed in 16oz beer cups. I let them go a few weeks and then transplanted into 2.5L square pots. This is where things became interesting.

I usually take the plants into the kitchen so I can let the pots drain over the sink, well my roommate decided it was a good time to :joint:. After the 420 break, I grabbed my spray bottle to spray the plants down with some plain RO water. Well in my enlightened state I ended up hitting them with my kitchen cleaner which is in the same type of spray bottle!

That fiasco set me back a few weeks and I ended up moving the babies into 3gal grow bags where they became really happy. It took me a few weeks to get off my lethargic ass to finally light proof my intake ports so I could start my flowering cycle. I just set my babies off to 12/12 (6/28/09) and I'm already running out of vertical space! Pray I don't get any sativa phenotypes.

DISCLAIMER: Shitty camera phone pictures!

(The last picture was a sign of the 420 gods smiling upon my shoulders after a mediocre session in the water)

I saw in your sig that you had an ICE grow going. How tall did your plants get? I pray to science my screen can hold them back :)

Little update for myself:

I ended up pulling four males from my tubs today. It was a shame since all my males were the healthiest/robust plants. My only female plant ended up getting crowded out by all the males and didn't receive as much light as I would have liked.

I'm not totally bummed out since this is a seed grow and I took clones from every plant. At least I've established a base of operations and I now have a mother plant!

Here's some pics of the lonely female; there will be no sausage fest in my closet!
Shot of under the screen. The other plants were bushy, while this plant had to stretch over the other plants for light.
She's really enjoying the new space and abundant light.
Rooted clone of my female, at least I won't have to deal with any XY's.

Looking real good man. Already looks a lot bigger. Nice job.

That's what she said.....

On that note here's an update with some beginning bud shots!

My clone looks like she is hurting a little bit. Could be too much light for how many leaves she has or the fact that she's sitting in my garage where it's a good 85+! Hell it is probably 90+ in there but it feels cooler when I enter the garage from riding my bike in this summer heat!

The clone is developing new leaves that look like they are healthy. I may have to bring her back in the climate controlled environment but that means I have to get off my lazy ass to make a Veg box to keep them out of sight when I have guests over.

Leaving for Hawaii for 10 days, it should be fun seeing what my girls will look like when I get back!
